piscesboy, Friday, 3 March 2006 17:05 (nineteen years ago)

I went to the States. Funnily enough, it was bigger. Than the national average anyway!

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 3 March 2006 17:05 (nineteen years ago)

OK. *NOW* it's snowing! Just looked out the window and everything's white! hurrah! (except it may make my planned afternoon outing to the pub more of an expedition)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 12 March 2006 09:53 (nineteen years ago)

i fuckin' hate snur, me. lots of travel plans etc changed now. but it does mean mrs fiendish is staying in glasgow for the rest of the day. hurrah.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 12 March 2006 11:55 (nineteen years ago)

Most snow ive seen in the 15 years i've lived in Hamilton. But not as heavy as when I was a kid. But in these days of global warming I never thought i'd see as much snow. Hurrah!

Except its starting to rain now. Boo!

Apparently 3000 clubbers were stranded in Glasgow last night.

bato (banned), Sunday, 12 March 2006 19:22 (nineteen years ago)

Wait till you see Alba's photos. Snowboarding in Kelvingrove!

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 12 March 2006 19:26 (nineteen years ago)

The satellite telly in my local pub (visible in that photo, it's that local) was knacked so I had to trudge for miles through the snow to get a pub showing the Celtic game (no buses, and my car is one of those under all that snow). I should have broken out my skis!

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 12 March 2006 19:29 (nineteen years ago)

wow, Ailsa, that looks as bad as when I was in Snowdonia last week. And you kind of expect them to get a lot of snow, given the name.

It snowed here on Saturday. Well, we had a couple of showers, ten minutes each, and none of it settled. I went down to the beach to take photos, hoping that it would turn into a blizzard. But, unsurprisingly, it didn't.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Sunday, 12 March 2006 20:04 (nineteen years ago)

steal compass, drive north, disappear (tissp), Sunday, 12 March 2006 20:57 (nineteen years ago)

Maybe there's a hint for what to do in your name there ;-)

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Sunday, 12 March 2006 21:16 (nineteen years ago)

Bah, I want to go home to the north again, where the snow is :(

steal compass, drive north, disappear (tissp), Sunday, 12 March 2006 21:17 (nineteen years ago)

I am fed up of expensive drinks and fuck all snow.

steal compass, drive north, disappear (tissp), Sunday, 12 March 2006 21:17 (nineteen years ago)

Look at all that lovely snow 2 pics up. Not a single footmark on it.
When all the cars drove up my street today messing it all up i felt like shouting at them to stop.
Theres nothing nicer to look at than untouched snow.
I cant remember this much a snowfall in 20 years.

20 years a go there would've been a young lady on the side of that Tennants Lager can.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Monday, 13 March 2006 00:57 (nineteen years ago)

Coincidentally, I've just come across this picture on Flickr, which is also from Kelvingrove in 1986. No snow, though. Not even much mud.

i was up in glasgow for the first time this weekend. the snow was ace!the necropolis looked amazing. also, the excellent glaswegian fry-ups seemed that much more hearty when the snow was ankle-deep outside.
