Ooh, I saw this the other day. We were watching it frame-by-frame to see if we recognised any locations, because it's clearly British.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

Wow. That's impressive.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 19:42 (nineteen years ago)

Except Homer is in a left hand drive car with a foreign number plate, while Marge is in a British one.

But it is good. I even saw Bleeding Gums Murphy on the street, so they've really paid attention to detail.

C J (C J), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

It was filmed in Bromley.

Øystein (Øystein), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 21:16 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, that is remarkable. What struck me most as like on TV: the conductor of the school orchestra.

the bellefox, Wednesday, 8 March 2006 21:21 (nineteen years ago)

two people have sent me a link to that but i've only just watched it. it is fucking brilliant. wow. i love the fact "homer" drives a lada.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 21:34 (nineteen years ago)

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 21:35 (nineteen years ago)

i love the fact "homer" drives a lada.

Heh, yes, that was what I laughed the most at too.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

i saw this the other day too, it's absolutely wonderful.

AaronK (AaronK), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 23:20 (nineteen years ago)

I did like how they handled the 'skateboard on car' deal.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 23:24 (nineteen years ago)

I loved this too - very clever indeed!

Me and Nick both had the same thought though: for the love of christ, no one better EVER think about making a live-action Simpsons movie a la the Flinstones. Or I will get Kill Bill on all their asses.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 23:38 (nineteen years ago)

Very good move of them NOT to try to make everything the exact same - most notably in how the people look.

Øystein (Øystein), Thursday, 9 March 2006 04:16 (nineteen years ago)

Aye, I at first wondered if they'd be yellow and pointy-haired but no, they looked like regular folk, it was very well done.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 9 March 2006 04:40 (nineteen years ago)

i liked how they look like normal people, but that look on marge's face in the car when she and maggie honk the horns together was PERFECT!

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 9 March 2006 04:45 (nineteen years ago)

apparently it was a total nightmare to cast

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 9 March 2006 04:48 (nineteen years ago)

Clever

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 9 March 2006 11:13 (nineteen years ago)

It's great, but do we think that Lisa Simpson is played by an eight year old Anna?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 11 March 2006 10:37 (nineteen years ago)

Just saw this running on Sky TV. It's an advert, and "Come Home To The Simpsons" pops up on the screen at the end.

Hello Sunshine (Hello Sunshine), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 17:32 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I saw it on telly last night. It's brilliant, isn't it, possibly my favourite advert since the Honda one with the car being put together.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

I liked Homer's buttcrack as he was running into the house through the garage. Is that a part of the cartoon opening sequence too and I've just never noticed it?

Rebekkah (burntbrat), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 18:59 (nineteen years ago)

I don't know if it's in the original, but it was a great little touch.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

The creepy twin girls are pretty sweet too.

Abbott (Abbott), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 20:05 (nineteen years ago)

I just saw it again on the telly, I totally didn't notice "Homer"'s crack before I read this thread, but I'm not ever going to not notice it now. And yes, the twins are brilliant.

"Lisa" = little Anna, definitely.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

I was just about to post that I was very impressed with this video until I saw Homer's buttcrack; now I just want everyone on Earth dead.

elizabeth anne marjorie, Wednesday, 29 March 2006 11:55 (nineteen years ago)

Didn’t they all die from ink poisoning not long after the pic was taken?

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Wednesday, 29 March 2006 12:29 (nineteen years ago)

no, but the little girl gave birth to a freakishly jaundiced baby

latebloomer: band to the planet mars (latebloomer), Wednesday, 29 March 2006 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

i'm dissappointed that only two have googly eyes. and why no token babydoll maggie?

AaronK (AaronK), Wednesday, 29 March 2006 14:22 (nineteen years ago)

Here's where they live:

Hello Sunshine (Hello Sunshine), Wednesday, 29 March 2006 14:54 (nineteen years ago)

That doesn't look like Duff beer.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 29 March 2006 14:55 (nineteen years ago)

They took it off the market after legal action. My friend has a can, and one day, I'm going to drink it.

S- (sgh), Thursday, 30 March 2006 04:38 (nineteen years ago)
