Fear of dentists - dud or totally dud?!

I'm going to the dentist today, and i'm scared like a little child...
Please share your stories, so i'll have some comfort knowing i'm not alone in this..

However, unless you get a sadistic Nazi (you there any other kinds?) for a dentist it shouldn't be too bad. And you can always treat yourself to sweets afterwards.

My dentist's a lovely bloke, and really comforting. Rubbish dentist though. There's nothing I'm scared of more than going to see him.
