where were you thinking? Sobell?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Monday, 13 March 2006 16:21 (twenty years ago)

If it's not in the badlands of NE London I'd love to play.

Some advice: courts get booked up really quickly for the evenings at the Sobell. It's worth getting an Izzcard so you can book a week in advance. Without one you can only book five days in advance and often everything's already gone.

sobell would be my first choice since it's 2 mins walk from my house.

i wonder if they still do the TENIZZ card (see what they've done?) apparently offering 75% tennis court bookings. which would rool as i'd like to play lots this summer. but i wonder how expensive it'd be also.

I refer the learned gentleman to the answer I gave on the FAGOT thread (i.e. same level of keenness, similar paucity of free time).

Yeah, I think I'm one of those people who made positive noises about badminton and promptly did nothing about it. If we can overcome the court availability obstacle, then I'm well up for it. I'll check what facilities are available round Hornsey / haringey way, where i'm now based.

Sobell's your best bet Mr Giraffe, get on the 91 bus.

Tehrannosaurus HoBB (the pirate king), Monday, 13 March 2006 17:00 (twenty years ago)

Thanks, Hobb. And thanks too for the booking tip. Getting a badminton court has always been a rather fraught task. Izz card? I guess you'd have to see to that, Ken... Presumably Izz stands for Islington and not Israel, Izmir or Isambard Kingdom Brunel

izzobel campbell

ken c (ken c), Monday, 13 March 2006 18:01 (twenty years ago)

Glasgow edition of this also welcome...

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 13 March 2006 19:06 (twenty years ago)

I'd be very on for this, yes. If we're at the Sobell, we could have another go at table tennis one of these days too.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 13 March 2006 21:39 (twenty years ago)

ooh that's true.

i wonder if they have lawn bowling there too at the sobell centre. we can all go there with our izz card, and bowl in a gay way.

izz-sobell camp bowl.

Wow, Ken. That is high-calibre multi-layered punning.
