No hamentashen for you!

Hey, man, Wednesday, 15 March 2006 01:45 (twenty years ago)

I'm really more interested in the drinking and shouting.

Only 364 other nights of the year to make up for it...

Well, Wednesday, 15 March 2006 01:50 (twenty years ago)

There's always St. Patrick's Day!

St. Purim's Day (aka the holy day when Esther prevented a leprechaun from getting crucified).

This explains the sudden appearance of hamentashen at Whole Fields recently.

wtf! purim! how the fuck did i miss that! first time i got drunk was at seder, and i've never missed one since. eff.

Mark Danjer (Danjer), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 07:43 (twenty years ago)

You can still make hamantashen.

I wasn't sure of the exact date of purim, but we made kreplach last week (first time) and I had a chocolate hamantashen in Chicago.

Is "hamantashen" both the plural and singular version?

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 19:27 (twenty years ago)

i want to make meat-filled hamantashen in pub-pie fashion.

obv. with a savory crust.

AaronK (AaronK), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 19:35 (twenty years ago)

Isn't that what kreplach are? I'm not totally sure, but that's the impression I got from the recipe.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 15 March 2006 19:47 (twenty years ago)

kreplach are meat dumplings.
