Who would play who .

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Andy Dick- anthony

Mike Hanle y, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Okay. Me and Anthony jut posted virtually the same thing, goddamnit.

Ally, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Why Andy Dick ?
We can cut one .

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ah, we can make it slightly different -- so this is the ILE movie specific thread. Then in that case the London ILE meet-up is a far superior version of Peter's Friends and the New York one an even more strung out take of The Celebration without the incest. Fuck knows who would play me. Dan once mentioned a haunting resemblance to Long Dong Silver, so his dream is granted. Ally is played by a kick-ass person of her own choice. Everyone else I'll have to think about.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ally is Ally Sheedy
Dan is Sam Jackson
Suzy is the blonde member of Shampoo
Patrick is a cross dressed Sarah Paulley
Ned is Matthew Broderick
Hanle y is played by Warren Beatty
Masonic Boom is played by Kate Winslet
Paul is Jude Law

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes. The other one is about your life and friends and the plot and the songs, this is specifically ILE. Good job.

Mike Hanley - Judd Nelson Dan Perry - Hootie Tom - Hugh Grant Ned - Tim Robbins with his long hair from High Fidelity Anthony - Hal Sparks Nicole - Drew Barrymore Me - Angelina Jolie Otis - Jonathan Richman. If unavailable, Matt Damon (if this happens, Ramon is in the film played by Ben Affleck. Steph would also have to be in it, played by Ally-McBeal-Secretary-Girl)

More people when I think of them.

Ally, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh, I forgot Kate and Paul, they will be played by Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe.

Ally, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Matthew Broderick? Dear heavens, only if you're talking about the ueber-character he played in The Holy Eighties Trilogy (WarGames, Ladyhawke and the godlike Ferris Bueller's). I am taken with the Tim Robbins link, though. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Although actually in Anthony's set-up I would in fact star opposite Ally in WarGames. Woo-hoo! Wait, I'd eventually have to talk to Eddie Deezen at some point.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

WARRENFUCKING BEATY!?

Mike Hanle y, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hush up or you're back to being Judd Nelson.

Ally, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ally-McBeal-Secretary-Girl = Jane Krukowski. Vavoom.

If _Dharma & Greg_-boy is picked to play me, I fucking quit. (Pardon my GODDAMN French.)

Crispin Hellion Glover playing a li'l DP, perchance?

David Raposa, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Whats wrong with Warren Beaty.
I got Hal Sparks and Andy Dick
Okay someone has to defend their choices.

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hal Sparks just seems like he'd have the right personality to be you, and you strike me for some reason as looking like him in my mind, much like no matter how many pictures I've seen of Tom (at last count: one), I think he's Hugh Grant.

ALly, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Being immortalized by a cross-dressed Sarah Polley, that's perfect, thanks Anthony ! Now I have a new goal in life !

Patrick, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am at least 8 inches taller but i kind of do. He is just too sweet.

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Nicole i imagine beign played by the ditzy sister in Notting hill.

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Please not someone in Shampoo. I have never been, nor will I ever be, blonde. Much as I appreciate Jacqui, the one who did not EAT their advance ;).

I have been told I resemble all of the following: Wallis Simpson, Jean Simmons, Parker Posey, Courteney Cox, Simone de Beauvoir, K Kepburn, Betty Boop (that's in a song), Erin O'Connor, Louise Brooks, Daria's best friend, Olive Oyl, Lucy van Pelt, a pipe cleaner, Coco Chanel and a Mini-Me version of Sigourney Weaver. I feel most like Lucy today.

Office of Central Casting suggests: Kerry; Kathleen Hanna. Ned: the guy who played Chris the DJ in Northern Exposure. Mark Sinker: Aiden Gillen. Tracer Hand: John Cusack. Paul Strange: Andrew Lincoln. Kate: Sophie Dahl. Ally: Guinevere Turner. Anthony: Eddie Izzard. Nick D: Chris Morris. Robin: Steve Coogan. Emma and Pete: Portia di Rossi and Peter MacNichol. Nicole: Mary Stuart Masterson. Ed: Hugh Fearnley- Whittingstall. Dan P: Ahmad Rahshad (don't worry, he'll explain). Oompahloompah-trail: Gene Wilder c. 1973, of course.

The part of Nick Currie will be played by the ghost of Kenneth Tynan.

suzy, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Okay i forgot Emma. I imagine Emma to be played by Catherine Zeta jones Douglas or a Youbg Elizabeth Taylor.
I am blushing red about Eddie Izzard .

and oh, do tell me the gossip concerning shampoo.

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

(Quite chuffed actually abt Aiden Gillen, for some reason — tho I think Central Casting are on the pipe. I know someone who knows him and he is of course totally up himself, but in a charming way, she says.)

mark s, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

On the pipe, moi?

suzy, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Chris the DJ -- okay, but I have to make better music choices. I admit I liked his job, though.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would like to be played by a young Anthony Perkins.

Sean, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm going to cry. You all forgot me *sob*!

DG, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Tom E: Colin Firth * Pete B: Phil Seymour Hoffmann * The Pinefox: Dylan Moran (with Vini Reilly as adviser) * Madchen: Sue-out-of-Mel- and-Sue * Ally96: Joe Cole * Robin C: Jimmy Corrigan the Smartest Boy in the World * Michael Jones: that fella out of BBMak * DG: Basil Rathbone (for pipe stunts) * DJ Constant Spray: Camille Paglia * DJ Crow Atak: Jennifer Saunders * Stevie T: Matthew Broderick

stevie t, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The Pinefox should be played by that guy who played Snake in Degrassi High. If ILE were Degrassi High, who'd be Joey Jeremiah ?

Patrick, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

DG- i can not picture you .
Anyways why didnt steve t cast me

anthony, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ah! Stevie T is my hero for the day.

DG, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

DG is being played by Jude Law.

I'm rather flattered by the Guin Turner thing, btw

Ally, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well, I was just trying to think of someone everyone wanted to shag, lesbian or no;). Guin and I were Scholarship Girls together at Sarah Lawrence and she's totally cool.

suzy, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like the fact that if you check the Guin Turner entry at imdb.com (no immediate idea who she was, see), her credit for Kiss Me Guido is 'Indignant Lesbian.'

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

*realizes she doesn't fully exist in the ILE world yet*

Not that I'm arrogant enough to believe that my few posts would make much of an impression.

Melissa W, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Melissa, how about Juliette Binoche?

I picture anthony being played by Ethan Hawke for some reason.

Mike Hanley is *totally* Paul Rubens.

My evening persona should be played by Claire Forlani, while the morning me is definitely more of a Janeane Garofalo, but with my luck I'll end up instead as that annoying red-headed chick from Suddenly Susan.

Kim, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Juliette Binoche? That's a new one. Never gotten that before.

Melissa W, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hey, another Sarah Lawrence person shows up on ILE. Cooly.

bnw, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Melissa W should be played by Molly Ringwald, surely.

Patrick, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I changed my mind. I am played by Harrison Ford.

Mike Hanley, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Whatever Pee Wee.

Patrick, I saw 'Joey Jeremiah' on Tv just this afternoon on some governmental nutrition awareness spot. He's balding! Bigtime. And Snake is on some car commercial as a yuppie husband. Ah well...

I always wanted to be Caitlin anyway.

Kim, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

1) i wonder which celebrity people think i look like

2) no matter whom plays whom, this film must include janeane garofalo and philip seymour hoffman, as any film about a messageboard rightfully would.

3) bringing up phillip seymour hoffman reminds me of 'happiness' and the pedophile dad from that, who should also be in this film, somehow. i know SOMEBODY looks like him (not me, sorry).

ethan, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kim will be played by Roseane Barr

Mike Hanley, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

bitch.

Kim, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

no no no, your pettiness will stop people from talking about ME! anyway, paul reubens is a fine actor to be portrayed by.

ethan, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ethan, you wanna be Mr. T? I hear he's quite available these days.

Kim, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Joey Jeremiah is *balding* ?!? This piece of info is making me terribly sad. There should be a Favorite Character From Degrassi High thread on here, I think. I'm not sure what mine would be yet, but I remember that at the time of the final episode (the one where Joey sleeps with 2 girls and Wheels - I think - ends up killing someone while driving drunk), I identified a lot with how everything Snake did would go completely wrong and everyone was real pissed off with him. I thought for sure he was gonna try to kill himself, so it made me happy that he had a cute girlfriend by the end of the show.

Patrick, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

'available' my ass! one time mr.t was down at the mall and i was gonna go but i kept putting it off until finally i went and he had already left and when i asked if he was ever coming back they said 'probably not', sniff.

but uh, yeah. i'm no mr.t, sadly.

ethan, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Would Josh be played by Luke Wilson or Rob Morrow?

Otis Wheeler, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

can i be played by the resurrected bill hicks?

Geoff, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Both the male leads in Bridget Jones?? I don't like where this is heading. I'd need a separate actor for the Beard Years too.

My problem is I can never remember actors names so I can never think of who to cast as what.

Tom, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Do I not get a part in this film?...I mean geez, what about me? My posts aren't that crap are they?

james e l, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think we should remake what;s new pussy cat. so long as peter o'toole can play me. or failing that peter sellers(best film woody allen ever made)

Ed, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think it should be some wild, comedic ski movie where we all have to band together to defeat the evil mega-corp that wants to shut down our resort unless we beat their preppy hero boy, the corp. owners son (who will be played by Anthony Michael Hall) in the big ski race on Saturday, and we will prepare by throwing a drunken toga hottub party, having tons of sex, and pulling lots of wacky pranks. Score by John Williams and Cyndi Lauper.

Kim, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Or we can be some sort of scrappy horrible also-ran sporting team trying to beat the good sporting team! Like Mystery Alaska or the Replacements or the Bad News Bears or something!

Ally, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Like...Escape to Victory! cool!

james e l, Wednesday, 18 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It will be like a nude ennui driven My Dinner with Andre but with more Vodka .

anthony, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

At the end can we all save the neighborhood with a huge rock concert??

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No because we are too enuui driven.

anthony, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think the stats cock should be Framed For A Murder It Didn't Commit, and we all have to prove its innocence otherwise we can't boast about how much time we waste on the board. Or instead, some hi- hi-hilarious road movie, full of wacky encounters etc.

DG, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It should so obviously be a caper comedy ala 'It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World' or 'Montecarlo or bust'.

Ed, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

THis. A group pf alein abductees meet on e year after their abduction online and realise the reason they were abducted was their ability to talk about nothing all day with ease and verve. To stop the invasion, they've gotta get into the mothership by dressing up as chimps and doing a s ecret dance based on the electronic slide. THeir plans almost go awry when a huge peanut butter mogul tries to anally probe them with his new finger machines. Cameo by Steve Guttenberg

Mike Hanle y, Thursday, 19 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

two months pass...
New actors needed to play new(er) posters!

james, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

So what's my motivation for the "Retail Boy #3" role?

Brian MacDonald, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You're trying to impress the cute girls browsing in the Rap section. You're cool, confident, and have every single recorded Mountain Goats song ever released. ACTION!

David Raposa, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

who shall play me? who? WHO??

jess, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

David: You're trying to impress the cute girls browsing in the Rap section. You're cool, confident, and have every single recorded Mountain Goats song ever released. ACTION!

"Hi, there... I mean, yo what up... heh heh... um,..."

Oh fuck... CUT CUT!

Brian MacDonald, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i still think luke wilson as josh is inspired. surely he has had this exchange before:

'you're like, really complicated, aren't you'

'well...i try not to be.'

and philip seymour hoffman got mentioned! but nobody ever cast me. :*(**

ethan, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Jess you can be played by John Cusack. You discover the secret keys to the ILE zone and embark upon cataloguing everything you see here.

This films needs a lot of work...for instance, do we include Hanle y Deus's plague of bats on the unsuspecting DG?

james, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

ethan can be played by Sean Scott William.

james, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I demand a re-think of my actor counterparts: I refuse to be associated with either Tom Jones or a nude Burt Reynolds. Or a clothed Burt Reynolds. Or a nude Tom Jones, etc.

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it's seann william scott, but YES. actually, wait, no.

ethan, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mitch you can be played by Ewan McGregor.

james, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I can't win in these situations. First person to make smart answer re me, gets not talked to again. Possibly an attractive prize for some of you.

Ronan, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Jess can be played by Steve Martin

Mike Hanle y, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm still waiting for this plague of bats.

DG, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've not been cast yet? Might I request Jack Nicholson?

Tadeusz Suchodolski, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

OH yeah, I am waiting for Hanle y to unleash a plague of chicken bears.

Tadeusz Suchodolski, Friday, 12 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I may send anal bats if your lucky DG. These littel fellas love inhabiting your cavernous rectum

Mike Hanle y, Saturday, 13 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

WHAT?????????

Ally, Saturday, 13 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Look Mike, you didn't even manage the plague of NORMAL bats, let alone anal variants. Time to put your money where your mouth is - the plague of bats on Monday the 15th, or renounce your assumed divinity.

DG, Sunday, 14 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Tad you may be played by Jack. Ronan, would you object to being portrayed by Ed Norton?

james, Sunday, 14 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'd take Ed Norton like a shot, but what makes you say him? I was more afraid of someone saying Macaulay Culkin or something cos of my glorious youth.

Ronan, Sunday, 14 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ahem

http://www.ilxor.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=006gF6

Mike Hanle y, Sunday, 14 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

seven months pass...
why the hell did i keep going on about philip seymour hoffman in this thread? oh yeah and the happiness pedophile dad guy can play dave popshots.

ethan, Sunday, 26 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I never did receive that promised plague of bats.

DG, Sunday, 26 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

People! People! Anna Nicole Smith has been signed for months now to play me, and she still hasn't seen the script! Unless Mike Leigh is now the director, and the whole thing's going to be improvised?

j.lu, Sunday, 26 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I tihnk the plot of the movie is going to revolve around Hanle y's plague of anal bats.

Dan Perry, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

More casting please, I've never seen this thread before.

Nathalie - either Patrica Arquette or Franke Potente (spelt right? The girl out of Run Lola Run)

Jess - Mathew McConherty (bollocks, I just can't spell today)

Can't think of any others

Anna, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna = Aileen Quinn.

N., Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna = on the left

Graham, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Okay, I just got word from the producers; Mike Leigh has in fact been signed to direct this bitch. However, there's been a change in the plot: it will start with one of Momus' anti-automobile jeremiads-- disrupted when Hanle y's anal bats make their grand entrance. Oh, and it'll be a musical.

j.lu, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Remind me never to speak to either of you ever again.

[Tomorrow, tomorrow, betcha bottom dollar that ...]

Anna, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

five months pass...
Sarah Clarke must be portrayed by Sara Gilbert!

That is all. (And I shall play myself as a younger man.)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I think John Malkovich (spelling wrong maybe but who cares) with a wig could do you Andrew!

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Pikachu as Mark S!

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Also Pete-Emilio Estevez.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Pikachu as Mark S!

ha ha PIKA?!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 1 November 2002 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

(My Anna link on this thread was too a picture of the Evil Princess from The Powerpuff Girls)

Graham (graham), Friday, 1 November 2002 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Anna goes freelance:

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 1 November 2002 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, her.
