Before: I used to have masturbation fantasies about all four TMNTs gangbanging April and shooting luminescent green cum all up into her.

Now: When I'm out with my friends or friends of friends and I hear one of them initiate a conversation about "Friends", I sort of, um, try to destroy their self-esteem by backhandedly attacking their intelligence, family, career, type of car they drive, hairstyle, you name it, for the remainder of the night. Oh, and I sort of wish the mother and daughter from the Gilmore Girls would eat each other out. Because otherwise the show is only good for attracting even cornier fans than Friends. "That Korean girl is SO TRUE!!" Ugh. Ballcorns.

I used to watch the waltons unironically, I quite enjoyed it. (NB this was early on sunday mornings, so crit faculties may have been poor) Also, I used to watch Shannon Tweed films on Channel 5, and thoroughly enjoyed them, esp the 1 where she was an undercover cop, & got JUSTICE thru SHAGGING.

Shannon Tweed = star of erotic thrillers, right?

RickyT, Wednesday, 23 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yup, her and the bizarrelky named Shannon Whirry.

I used to LOVE the Waltons totally unironically. I still watch it if it's on and I'm in the mood. Fave children = Erin and Jason; least fave = Mary Ellen and Elizabeth.

The Waltons passed me by, but ah, Little House on the Prairie, a different situation...

Pa...Pa...I...can't see!

I remember seeing Little House on the Prairie some day when I was 6 or 7 and one of the people in it was having recurring nightmares about giant insects. It scared me for years. thank god noone ever found out back then. scared by little house on the prairie clearly is good material for bullies.

I fucking LOVE Gilmore Girls. It's the bomb. Sure, the daughter is endlessly annoying as are all her friends, the pop culture references are laughable and the small-town New England setting is totally played out. Whatever. The mom is hot and it's very charming sometimes. Actually, it's very charming most of the time. I can overlook the cheesiness in order to live an idyllic small-town life with compassionate, cool and understanding authority figures vicariously through a TV show. Welcome to my life.

Put me down for the Dukes of Hazaard.

Well. Won't be watching TMNT the same way anytime soon.

some of my favorite TV shows were ones that I only saw late at night, ones that were definitely not American, i.e. the Canadian cop show "Night Heat", which featured a young CLARK JOHNSON in a supporting role. As the IMDb puts it, "The exploits of the detectives of the Mid South Precinct, in a generic North American city not unlike New York (but a lot like Toronto), chronicled through the eyes of newspaper columnist Tom Kirkwood and his "Night Heat" column."

Luckily, I had a teacher who read us her books at an early age to prevent me from ever really falling into that trap. I did have a childhood crush on M. Gilbert, though.

how do watch something "ironically"? do you only use your peripheral vision?

Now that I know Bob Saget is foul of mind and mouth in real life, I can tolerate "Full House" reruns.
