look out, there's illegal immigrants hiding under the lid, waiting to jump out and celebrate their culture AND SEND THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL!!!

I nearly bought a new grill at Homebase yesterday. It was bright pink and round and pleasing... but then I realised I was totally being gurlmarketed to, so I didn't get it. But now I wish I had it so I could have FIRE in my courtyard.

A GAS grill? Why don't you just move your stove outside?

Colin Meeder (Mert), Tuesday, 4 April 2006 15:20 (twenty years ago)

What colin said.

Kate, get a chimnea.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 4 April 2006 16:57 (twenty years ago)

I'm scared of those chimney things. Though I think I might like them if I planted flowers in them instead of burning things.

Also, the problem with said chimnea:

...is that you cannot chuck stuff on it, and make the flames leap into the sky, like The Russian and I were doing.

Tweed on Tweed (kate), Tuesday, 4 April 2006 17:08 (twenty years ago)

I can show you how.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 4 April 2006 17:12 (twenty years ago)

Also, it looks like a very early cannon. Which makes me think that it might blow up. Unless we could have fun, pointing the flames at The Russian with the chimney! Ha ha!

I don't want to change the world
I'm not looking for a New England
I'm just looking for another grill.

three years pass...

In my latest adventure in fully leaning in to being a suburban dad, I bought a massive weber grill not realizing how massive it was - got a steal price used (great condition) on fb marketplace, but I now own a fucking boat that also happens to grill food and feel slightly ridiculous about it.

also, in before "why bother with gas grills." Charcoal takes an annoying amount of time to be ready and makes no sense when you're just cooking for your family, and no it is not the same as cooking on a gas stove, unless you put your steak directly on the flame on your stove.
