Oh my god! Takes me back to the days of the J0hn H3pp3n Booze Explosion.

(Another joke that no one but Dandy Warhols fans will get. Sigh.)

macy gray squawking all over the theme tune spoils this prog from the off tho.

I saw her once in LA... She was so drunk that all her friends were helping her walk from place to place.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 5 April 2006 09:46 (twenty years ago)

Arrrrgh! "Miss Match" was great! They cancelled it over here after six episodes or something. If it's a British hit, does that mean they'll have to make more?

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Wednesday, 5 April 2006 10:22 (twenty years ago)

i saw an episode of this in brazil last summer and loved it!

my favorite exchange in "the crush":

"guess what?"
"what?"
"i got my period!"

strongohulkingtonsghost, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 01:10 (sixteen years ago)

I watched Clueless against my better judgement. It was one of my girlfriend's favorite movies. By the end of the movie, she turns to me and burst out laughing. I was almost in tears. Also recently I watched a two episode Lifetime summer book turned movie. She plays a fashion reporter who solves fashion related murders. They weren't half bad.

Jacob Sanders, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 03:16 (sixteen years ago)

Clueless is my favorite movie of all time, I don't think there is a single scene I can't recite line for line.

musically, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 03:56 (sixteen years ago)

It's the girl's "Monty Python"

musically, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 03:57 (sixteen years ago)

The contents of her bowl were "a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum!"

"He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I'm eating," she continues, talking about her 10-month-old son. "This video was taken about a month or 2 ago when he was a bit wobbly. Now he is grabbing my mouth to get the food!"

Amy Heckerling's Vamps got some glowing reviews, and has vanished from NY theaters in less than 2 weeks.

saltwater incursion (Dr Morbius), Monday, 19 November 2012 19:41 (thirteen years ago)

I hope alicia realizes that really young kids need a goodly amount of fat and protein in their diet to aid in brain and muscle development. having your kid attack you for food is not quite as reassuring a behavior as you seem to think it is.

Aimless, Monday, 19 November 2012 21:17 (thirteen years ago)

I think kids should make up their own mind about vegetarianism, as I think they should be encouraged to think for themselves about religion and politics.

I think they should learn what vegetables are, though.

How does that open in "one theaters"?

saltwater incursion (Dr Morbius), Monday, 19 November 2012 21:23 (thirteen years ago)

I agree kids should make up their own minds about vegetarianism...but I'm not sure if you mean that means eating meat, not eating meat, or doing what their parents do until they decide?
xpost

MrDasher, Monday, 19 November 2012 21:24 (thirteen years ago)

whenever their parents stop chewing their food for them is when they decide

passion it person (La Lechera), Monday, 19 November 2012 21:25 (thirteen years ago)

I would say when they procure their own food is when they decide...the parents shouldn't have the meat in their house against their own beliefs (if it is against their beliefs, which isn't the case with all vegetarians obv)

Isn't Alicia Silverstone currently on Broadway?

MrDasher, Monday, 19 November 2012 21:31 (thirteen years ago)

Parents shouldn't force meatloaf and liver on their young'uns, as I had forced on me as a child. Although my mom made chicken kiev and always had vegetables. But most kids don't have parents who encourage vegetarianism. I hated meatloaf, I used to feed it to the dog under the table and go, "whoo, that was good!"

I can't complain, she made a complete dinner for us every night.

โตเกียวเหมียวเหมียว aka Italo Night at Some Gay Club (Mount Cleaners), Monday, 19 November 2012 21:40 (thirteen years ago)

the music video for aerosmith's "amazing" made so much more sense to me when I was younger

Mozzarella i Fieri (Sufjan Grafton), Monday, 19 November 2012 21:49 (thirteen years ago)

Right, I don't think parents should force the kids to eat something that repulses them or that goes against their beliefs. So, for me the kids can decide for themselves to not eat meat before they can decide for themselves to eat meat, I guess.

I don't remember any of those Aerosmith videos besides the first one, and I don't remember which one that was. There were 3 with AS, right?

MrDasher, Monday, 19 November 2012 21:53 (thirteen years ago)

"amazing" is the one where a guy enters cyberspace to ride a motorcycle and skyboard with AS. And he apparently did it all to download a picture of AS with his 56kbps modem. But at the end, AS is on a computer and all like "the GUY was the simulation"

Mozzarella i Fieri (Sufjan Grafton), Monday, 19 November 2012 21:55 (thirteen years ago)

she was fantasizing that someone would fantasize about her. that's pretty deep, man.

some dude, Monday, 19 November 2012 21:57 (thirteen years ago)

amazing, even.

some dude, Monday, 19 November 2012 21:57 (thirteen years ago)

but why was the guy in the simulation all self-conscious about his looks then?

Mozzarella i Fieri (Sufjan Grafton), Monday, 19 November 2012 21:59 (thirteen years ago)

the guy also hangs her photo up with a lineup of other girls he's simu-creeping on. why would she want to be desired by a dude that desires all of these other girls?

Mozzarella i Fieri (Sufjan Grafton), Monday, 19 November 2012 22:01 (thirteen years ago)

I think that the director looked at some porn, felt guilty, and then tried to justify it with this video

Mozzarella i Fieri (Sufjan Grafton), Monday, 19 November 2012 22:02 (thirteen years ago)

well i see there'll be no campaign to make Vamps this year's Margaret.

Didn't realize Vamps was Amy Heckerling. The Slant review says there's "a subtle reference to Siegfried Kracauer's classic tome of film crit, From Caligari to Hitler"--that's so phenomenally esoteric. I'm interested.

clemenza, Tuesday, 20 November 2012 01:22 (thirteen years ago)

^ insane. Vamps IS some kind of near-classic! Reese's last scene is a great one.

Vamps is a bit sloppy, but actually quite funny and even unexpectedly poignant--the Silverstone character's malaise casts a melancholy pall over the whole thing that's hard to shake. Shame to waste Taylor Negron like that, though.
