three years pass...

This is frustratingly vague but if you're up to the challenge, here are the details I can remember about a metal album I heard a long time ago:

1.)The "band" was actually one guy (at least on recordings)
2.)The word "Texas" was either in the band name or an album name.
3.)Pretty sure one of the albums had a pentagram on it somewhere.
4.)I heard them in 2000, but the album I heard might have been from a couple years before.
5.)I've seen the name mentioned on ILM before.

Anyone?

Nevermind, it was Today is the Day.

Nevermind is Nirvana.

two months pass...

so what's that one band who was one young guy who himself recorded a semi-classic psych-pop album, maybe in the late 60s or early 70s, with the vague concept of death. Or maybe it was an entire life, and the last song was the death. With that one song that was better than the rest and had little neat backwards loops and shit. There are probably a thousand albums fitting that description, but I'll listen to all of em once I remember the one I'm thinking of!

all of my searching is coming up with S.F. Sorrow, which is the album that reminded me of this one. :'(

This seems as good a place to post this as any, copied from a friend's facebook profile:

Around the end of the 70's - beginning of the 80's, when I was about ten, I saw a record sleeve in a shop. This is what it looked like...

Colour photograph of a woman, head and shoulders shot. She had long punk-ish wildly coloured hair. She wore a studded dogs' collar. I cannot say what she looked like because she was pulling her face off, elongating it by gripping at her nose and mouth. I think this was rubber make-up rather than a photographic trick.

Anybody?

nine years pass...

Can anyone make out the signature on this photo I bought at an antique store in Massachusetts?

the store clerk's best guess was Michael Hammond, which could be right, though my google searches haven't turned up any likely suspects with that name. tbf there's a good chance that the photographer isn't in any way noteworthy, so this may be a fruitless search.

(bonus points if you can tell me exactly where in Gaeta the photo was taken)
