Am I the only one?

Am I the only one here who can live alone quite well and enjoy being alone at the same time? I guess it's perhaps that I have always been surrounded by everyone and over-protected to the hilt! ( Mainly due to panic attacks.) How about the rest of you?

I can't live alone in this house (or this town as a matter of fact) as I have no car and nearly no money but if I could I swear I'd adore it.

Hi Maria, I don't drive either but it doesn't take me anytime at all to learn bus routes or ask someone to take me somewhere. I don't have a pile of money either but I do scrape by with God's help!

I've lived alone for six years — and several times before that — and am quite comfortable with it. Naturally I talk to the television...

I talk to the cat and the dog when I'm house sitting for my parents.

Naturally I talk to the television...

Does it talk back?

Take a bus! hahaha. There's a horse farm within walking distance, but no buses.

But if I really really wanted to live alone I could probably get a job and move away.

Inanimate objects do look a lot more appealing when living alone. This type of life can certainly be enjoyable but things can get difficult once you're required to interact with breathing organisms again. I don't know what's worse, neglecting people or neglecting a private inanimate kingdom.

I enjoy living alone. I like sitting in a bar and talking to people, and I like meeting new people, but I just don't like living with them. I'm sure it comes from having a family that leans on me too much and didn't allow me any privacy or quiet time as a kid. I'm terrified of being drowned by someone else. But enjoying living alone is not the same thing as enjoying being in the house most of the time.

i sorta live alone in that i don't really talk to my flatmates. we are quite detached from one another. i could quite easily live alone, i think. sometimes i enjoy my own company, depends on the mood i'm in.

My ultimate dream is to live alone in a space station, with a huge wardrobe full of comfortable space clothes designed by NASA.

I loved living alone and enjoy having some time to myself. I've never quite gotten those people who can't stand to be alone.

Hi Maria, If you don't drive wouldn't you like to live in town where everything is handy? I personally like large town or city although right now I'm in a tiny town. ( For my Mom's sake as she was raised in this area.)

I live with two housemates but we all have our own paths. It's very comfy.

I think a lot of people are. I think you've improved a great deal.

The only time I lived on my own it was in a squalid hellhole, so I can't really judge. And the girlfriend was often over so it didn't feel like the full on living-on-your-own experience.

Before that I lived with other people, and it did make me think that other people are very annoying and living on your own is where it's at. If I could live on my own in a nice big appartment I'd be all for it.
