Because if the Yanks can have a McGruff thread, surely we can dedicate a little server space to the red elephant that saved so many kids from chip pan fires?

Jesus christ, of course he was on TV! In the middle of the day on ITV on Saturdays and Sundays--either advertising was very cheap or ITV did it as a public service. I was Tyne-Tees region, so maybe he was strictly local.
