I want to be able to make my own shortcuts; for example, cntrl-I would be remapped to post image HTML and cntrl-L or something for posting links.
so, I looked for a freeware Windows macro utility. There are hundreds. Can anyone recommend a decent macro tool? Must be free, must not have a trial period, and obvs no spyware.
Does anyone know of a good tool? Or can I simply create macros in Firefox? Or Windows? I looked, but couldn't find any option to do so. Thanks.

haven't tried it myself but it is gpl so... bloke who used to sit next to me would swear by them but i can't remember which one he used. when i started work i had a wyse 50 terminal that you could define macros for and map them to the function keys. unfortuately there was a limit of 10 characters per macro so sometimes you'd end up having to press F1 F2 F3 to get the job done.

pretty easy, only took a minute. looks like solid freeware. so how does everyone else paste in links or images? i had always copy and pasted from a .txt file links i had on my toolbar folder. could do it very quickly, but it becomes annoying..
