I saw I Am Curious (Yellow) for the first time 2 weeks ago (and have Blue waiting at the library) -- knowing nothing about it other than its landmark US obscenity trial, I was kinda shocked to find scenes of the filmmaker interviewing Martin Luther King and Olof Palme. While it's certainly of its time in a way that occasionally seems naive and silly, I liked it much more than most of the web comments I've seen... the lead actress, Lena Nyman, is quite fearless. The Criterion DVD trial transcripts (from defense witnesses John Simon and Norman Mailer!) fascinate.

Am I only the person on the earth that realises I Am Curious (Yellow) is the dullest fucking piece of shit ever shot on film?

Because I Am Curious (Yellow) is the dullest fucking piece of shit ever shot on film.

No, that would be the first 45 minutes of Pirates of the Caribbean, which I endured the other night before hitting Eject.

incurious (moran)

Really, putting "auteur of groundbreaking Swedish sex film" in the thread title ... nah, wouldn't have helped.

He had an awesome Lincoln-style beard most of his life. Also handled Ingmar Berman Makes a Movie remarkably well.
