...unless you hate football.

I hate the Carlsberg ads, but this is just fantastic

Ha, I didn't realise the sound from the German coastguard ad was playing at the same time as the football one, and was thinking "this is quite an avant-garde sound collage for a Carlsberg ad."

I must disagree

While not quite on the subject of Bobby Robson, an anecdote from a friend:

Bobby Robson is doing a book signing in Newcastle. A guy I know called Tim goes up to him with a newly bought copy of Robson's autobiography. Tim says, 'You must be getting tired -- how many have you signed
today?' Robson replies, 'Oh, hundreds. Hundreds and hundreds!' and signs the book. When Tim looks at the inscription it reads:

Tim,

All the best,

Bobby Hundreds

Tim should have collared someone later that day to see if they had a book signed by Bobby Fucking Loads.

Back in 2000, a friend of mine asked Bill Clinton to sign a current issue of the New Yorker, with a cartoon of Clinton on a horse on the cover, dressed as a cowboy.

He got to the front of the stage, passed over a pen and a copy of the issue to Clinton, and Clinton took the issue and the pen, passed them to a security guard and said "Gee, thanks", and walked off.

xp- Sir Robby Bobson would never use the f-word with a member of the public. That is a great story though, and has been since football365 first ran it.

re Clinton- A friend of mine was actually present when Bono gave the Pope his sunglasses, and he swears that the whole thing was a misunderstanding and that Bono looked miffed at the exchange. 'How many platinum discs does the Pope have?', to paraphrase Stalin.

They're drinking in my local at the end of that ad. (The Birkbeck Tavern, London, E10)
The locals got turned out and given a tenner each to drink elsewhere. I would have demmanded more.
