The Hurting/Abbadavid got engaged in CA thread!

I proposed to my girlfriend of four years this past Sunday (yes Easter -- we're secular Jews), and she said yes : )

I popped the question on a little back road in the charming Sonoma Valley, CA town of Glen Ellen, toward the end of a very romantic trip up the CA coast. I did not get down on one knee, and she was genuinely glad that I didn't.

I gave her a very nice family ring and she was quite happy with it.

We're already talking about the wedding, maybe even as soon as September (we'd prefer to do an afternoon outdoor thingy).

Congratulations! In your situation, I'm glad you didn't take my advice from the other thread.

My first reaction to this thread was "I thought that Hurting and Abbadavid were guys. I had no idea that they were even dating."

Also, this also solves another mystery. Since my "buy her a ring, stupid" advice, another ilxor has announced his engagement. He's even a person that I've met in real life. So I was wondering if that was the same guy, and it's not.

it was her great grandmother's wedding band, but i was at least classy enough to covertly escort it to the jeweler for a cleaning and resizing, all without her knowledge.
