dedicated to that scene from "American splendor"...

american splendorr, Wednesday, 19 April 2006 16:41 (twenty years ago)

juicy pear is ok. I like toasted marshmallow and buttered popcorn! Also the very bright blue one, but I do not know and indeed have never known what its flavor is.

RoxyMuzak© (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 16:44 (twenty years ago)

Candyfloss!

I can't tell some of them apart though, but classic nonetheless!

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 16:45 (twenty years ago)

mmm...blueberry maybe?

splendor indeed, Wednesday, 19 April 2006 16:45 (twenty years ago)

Hot cinnamon. I have a whole box of them in the cupboard. The OCD I normally suppress is coming to the surface, as I eat them methodically until I have the same number of beans in each little compartment bit

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 16:50 (twenty years ago)

Classic. Pear, popcorn, root beer, and watermelon are my favorites.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 17:25 (twenty years ago)

Oh no! Haha, Big/Loud, we're 0 for 4 and I didn't even notice.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 17:30 (twenty years ago)

Watermelon is okay, but generally they are way too sweet for me.

C J (C J), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 17:37 (twenty years ago)

Popcorn all the way.

The Mercury Krueger (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 17:38 (twenty years ago)

caught in, Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

teenagequiet OTM!! tangerine is great. i like all the fruit flavored ones, as well as rootbeer and dr. pepper. Popcorn is AWFUL.

the unbearable lightness of peeing (orion), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:36 (twenty years ago)

Lauren, explain!

I want to be able to afford to live on these. With so many flavours they must have every nutrient right?

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:36 (twenty years ago)

disgusting

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:39 (twenty years ago)

i'm not a huge candy person to begin with, so the idea (and indeed the reality) of candy flavored like coca cola and cotton candy and peanut butter and popcorn and sushi and hot dogs disgusts me.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:45 (twenty years ago)

oh, that makes sense i guess :(

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:46 (twenty years ago)

from my experience, people who like chocolate in general, like jelly belly less than the people who don't (like me) or who are just ok with chocolate.

but, lauren, you cant tell till you try.and you should, cause they are something else.

hot chocolate boy, Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:48 (twenty years ago)

pear YES. basically all the translucent fruit ones are good, the rest are a mixed bag(nyuk nyuk), although popcorn has an inexplicable allure.
they really are the best jelly beans, surprised nobody has repped the big fat cheap easter-issue jelly beans but in case you're thinking about doing that, YOU'RE WRONG. I'm just ok with chocolate.

watermelon

cherry

chocolate pudding

pina colada

tutti-frutti

green apple

blueberry

root beer (being from england i have never actually drank root beer, if it tastes like this then i would drink it by the gallon)

max r, Monday, 8 October 2007 13:04 (eighteen years ago)

Very cherry, lemon and lime, margherita, orange juice, orange sherbert, lemon drop, cherry coke, green apple and pink garpefuit.

Anna, Monday, 8 October 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

Just had a brown one, which I think was root beer and it was foul. Each to their own, I suppose.

I'm intrigued by the recipes, but I have to share a fairly small tin with eight colleagues.

Daniel Giraffe, Monday, 8 October 2007 14:05 (eighteen years ago)

I really like the blueberry, coconut, cinammon and licorice ones...nothing too exotic.

Abbott, Monday, 8 October 2007 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

Anna OTM but I like the non-tangy flavours in small doses as a kind of mixer for the yummy ones.

Noodle Vague, Monday, 8 October 2007 19:32 (eighteen years ago)

I'd love to try the sours.

Daniel Giraffe, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 07:10 (eighteen years ago)

eleven months pass...

eleven months pass...

OK, if I was to be hosting a quiz where one of the rounds was jelly bean tasting (ie guess the flavour) is there any way I could disguise the colour of the jelly beans? Like with edible paint or something? It would have to be something that doesn't have a flavour of its own, and isn't Tippex.

Needless to say I have bought a giant packet to 'sample' the most quizzical flavours.

So I'm the only one who likes the popcorn ones, then?

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Wednesday, 30 December 2009 13:28 (sixteen years ago)

No, the popcorn ones are my favorite.

ô_o (Nicole), Wednesday, 30 December 2009 13:57 (sixteen years ago)

if yr into these, i highly recommend checking out dollar stores for packages of what are called 'Belly Flops.' basically, they're misshapen or otherwise fucked-up Jelly Belly jellybeans. they taste the same, include the same variety of flavors, and are almost grossly cheap compared to the pretty, perfect ones.
