My high school girlfriend stayed over at a friend's house once and caught the cooties, and was too embarrassed to tell me, so I got them too. Anyone who's met me can tell you how curly my hair is, and at that time it had been well over a year since I'd cut it. It wasn't fun to walk up to the desolate, barren Walgreen's counter with a bottle of "Nix" and that head of hair. Crazy to me now that I even cared, but I was mortified at the time. What I remember other than that is how they actually make you feel as though you're going insane.

Hah, unless you have de-loused dreads you know nothing.

My kids got headlice, repeatedly, when they were in daycare. I was oh so careful with the Rid and Nix, timing it to the second and immediately washing it out. Until the third time, when I just let it soak in for a good 45 minutes. I was so sick of dealing with those critters and my daughter's waist-length hair. Endless combing combing combing. The kids were more traumatized by having all their stuffed toys sealed in plastic bags for a week.

apparently body hair lice and head hair lice are deadly enemies. They sometimes meet in your eyebrows (which count as body hair for lice purposes), but mostly they stick to their own.

You can't get scabies on your face, for some reason. Which is a good thing on balance.

I hear a paste of muscilage and toto creme can help.

Coconut oil can expel them too!
