UK film and TV show i.d.'s - help please?

hi got 2 of 'em need i.d.:

the TV show - 50's/60's feel (I'm guessing early-mid 60's) - black & white show about a bunch of kids (maybe 11/12 year olds?) in rural UK, lots of adventures at seaside, countryside - not especially lively or funny - great period piece though - old (slow) world feel / natural beauty of everyday places (repeats used to play on U.S. PBS around late 70's / early 80's).

the film (possibly BBC? TV movie?) - again late 50's to mid 60's black & white - about a high school or college teacher (wrongly) accused of groping or being involved with a student. declares innocence but is treated with contempt - including by wife who is going to leave him, UNTIL he pretends guilt, which is what everyone wanted all along - now he's considered a right proper rascal, wife admires him and not only stays but it rekindles her interest... society's corrupt, play along, etc. pretty classic!

Was the TV show the adaptation of "Swallows and Amazons"?

By which I mean I considered that it might be The Famous Five, but that was later, 1970s I think.

The second one sounds like the sort of film the Boulting Brothers would have made but I don't think it is them

Yeah, first one = Famous Five. Amber's choice of reading at the moment.

Don't remember the second.

checked out info for The Famous Five and it looks right - thanks! strangely I remember it as black & white. but if it was an earlier/older show, it was a very similar idea.

six years pass...

second one above in original post is Term Of Trial (1962) starring Laurence Olivier, Simone Signoret, Sarah Miles and Terence Stamp. found this out thanks to assistance from someone nice at B.F.I.! great film by the way!

still haven't found first one, the show with the kids. it's not The Famous Five, but I do recommend the 70's version of that. also, not Swallows And Amazons, of which the 1973 version with Suzanna Hamilton is lovely: perfect kids adventure. I suspect the i.d. I'm looking for is 50's or 60's at latest.

not it but Children's Film Foundation is a great lead - even if they didn't produce the show, I might find it on a Youtube suggested/cross-reference. the show played often on PBS in U.S. sometime around 1980-1983, but I don't remember it having a strong plot, more like: kids hanging out and playing at or near the (quite rustic) seaside.

The only other thing I could find was something called 'The Handy Gang'. http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/series/40441

Hi this may be a long shot, but was wondering if it would be possible to get a TV/Film identified with these vague details? It's something I remember seeing on TV when I was about 12, or 13. It's based in Scotland possibly set around the mid 80's maybe a little earlier and all I remember is it's about 3 teenage boys. One I think is set to join the Navy. There is also a confrontation with a teacher that one of them has, also seem to recall one of them drinks himself to death on a beach. IMDB is proving quite useless.
