There's a mirror of the older non-flash site here: http://www.bigspaceship.com/archive/hanso/

If you click on the picture of Hanso you get a little computer screen with

HELLO?
>: HELLO>
WHO IS THIS?
>: MOLE.

Then it cuts to a memo that mentions unpleasantness between members of the foundation and the Global Health Organisation also mentions a Zanzibar Facility.

LOST: Series Deux HOT anticipation thread -- UK-style

If you look at the Hanso site page, go to the active projects section and then click on the Life Extension one ..... then double click on the last line of the memo, it brings up a slightly garbled screen asking for a password. Type in Copenhagen and then you get to see a further letter to do with research operations in the sub-Saharan area and an offshore base on the island of Zanzibar.

I think I'm tripping.

Can anyone confirm that they saw the word HISCOX in bold black letters at the top right of the screen when Jack reached the bottom of the hatch?

It kind of floated along to the middle of the screen then disappeared?

I looked up HISCOX assuming they were something to do with filming equipment or somesuch but all I'm getting is an insurance company.

Has anybody recorded the programme?

I'm sure I saw similar things during the first series too.

HISCOX on your brain.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 09:10 (nineteen years ago)

Maybe it is. I've become fixated on big giant dongs.

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 09:13 (nineteen years ago)

I didn't notice any words floating across the screen. I've checked on the Lost searchable-database-of-facts too, and the word HISCOX doesn't return any results. Odd.

I'm not prone to hallucinating... is it possible for tv signals to get overlaid or something, like negatives?

Ehhh, well seen I know NOTHING about tellies or film or photography!

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 09:33 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, you can get 'ghosting' where TV channels over-lay each other. I've had that happen before, but it's not usually something very clear.

C J (C J), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 09:36 (nineteen years ago)

xpost

When I had telly I used to get overlaid bits and pieces from other channels all the time, especially during stormy weather.

secondhandnews (secondhandnews), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 10:40 (nineteen years ago)

HISCOX XOCSIH

Bizarre. But now I'm thinking if it was some kind of overlay from another channel, and HISCOX is an insurance company, and I've never heard of them or saw them advertised anywhere, and rosebud was the name of his sled, then surely HE'S BEHIND YOU!!! AARGHHH!!!

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 10:45 (nineteen years ago)

They have been advertising on TV lately, possibly as sponsor to Lost?

is it possible for tv signals to get overlaid or something, like negatives?

When my desk telephone was dying it started picking up ambient noise from the kitchen. You'd pick up the receiver and hear the radio in the kitchen, dishes clinking, people moving around. Something in the kitchen was somehow transmitting to the phone. SO WEIRD!!!!! Then it totally died.

So Rumpie, yeah. Machines can get confused and possessed.

I dig how the old Hanso Foundation logo looks like the Enron logo.

they've set up various fake websites and companies that are apparently related to why they might be on the island

clever types/ocd types are finding tidbits of information related to the show...
