i watched this movie and i feel like i have been hit in the guts repeatedly, its so raw and painful , is it art ?

celebration = festen? I want to festen as DATE MOVIE oops, and had to escort her home weeping uncontrollably. i thought it was funny (i mean, meant to be, in a v.dark way). Event cathartic for her tho: she saw it again on vid with her boyf abt two months ago and enjoyed it.

Festen is wonderful. I found it reasonably funny, too, which doesn't detract at all from the pain it carries with it. DATE MOVIE probably not as bad an idea as watching The Idiots with your family at Christmas after telling them part of the reason you wanted it was that it was hilarious. Oops.

in a complicated way FESTEN was the best possible date movie for T and me, as her emotional collapse suring and after kinda fast-forwarded us to the core of our current v.v.v.close friendship w/o evah having to be eg lovahs which i think wd have ended quite badly for both...

so YAY dogme!!
