Limited Edition Junk Food

Unlike basecall cards or music purchases, limited edition junk food is perishable. You can't freeze it forever, as it could spoil the composition. So you ultimately have no choice but to EAT IT AND SAVOR!

What have been your favorite limited edition junk food items of past?

I should stress "perishable easily in one's lifetime"

Kits Kats with the orange filling. Does that count?

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Saturday, 6 May 2006 02:41 (nineteen years ago)

Dark chocolate Reese's peanut butter cups and Tabasco cheez-its. Those are recent, probabl;y still made, but I will miss them when they get pulled. Going to the candy isle of Big Lot's is like a graveyard of this stuff.

Dark chocolate M&Ms (marketed as "dark side" Star Wars M&Ms).

king size reese's = the bomb

I was really looking forward to the caramel Kitkats but they were horribly sickly.
I think McDs are releasing a limited edition BIG Big Mac for the world cup in the UK - limited to what I have no idea.

Oh yeah, a Bigger Big Mac...

I feel nauseous just looking at the regular one.

Burger King used to do these little cheese/chilli squishy triangle things (I think they described them as nachos) that were fucking awesome and now they don't do them any more and I'm sad. But they weren't intentionally limited edition, I guess. MacDo's limited edition stuff is usually disappointing, but they did something good once involving cheese and salsa and sour cream which was a total mess to eat but worth it.

they are available all the time if you buy the 9-packs of two finger kit-kats from supermarkets. mint and dark ones too (although these do seem rarer, perhaps 80% of the time)

Double Decker with Nuts. That was some good eating.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 6 May 2006 09:12 (nineteen years ago)

i was working in london in '99 and thought of a friend at home in the US since mcdonalds had these advertisements for these awful McChicken Korma Naan sandwiches. he loved mcds and loved indian food..

If drinks count, I MISS PEPSI TWIST!

Seriously, cola mixed with lemon-flavoured furniture polish was the best thing ever.

Baskin Robbins' "Valley Forge Fudge" ice cream, holy smokes that was good.

pixel farmer (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 6 May 2006 15:01 (nineteen years ago)

"Reverse the Curse" cookie! Not eaten, even after the curse was reversed.

scrimhaw1837 (son_of_scrimshaw), Saturday, 6 May 2006 15:10 (nineteen years ago)

"Extra Smooth 'n' Creamy" Kit-Kat superior to original. Not true for XtraS&C Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Baskin Robbin's German Chocolate Cake ice cream was the best thing about last year for me.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 6 May 2006 15:33 (nineteen years ago)

mcd's in holland had some bizarre special burgers on flatbread when i was there. my friend got the afrika burger, which was two patties with some kind of curry frites sauce and cheese.

lauren (laurenp), Saturday, 6 May 2006 16:10 (nineteen years ago)

I quite liked the McDonalds Naan thingies.

I miss when they made Crunchies with Tango in them.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 6 May 2006 16:13 (nineteen years ago)

DARK CHOCOLATE KIT KATS. LOCK THREAD PLS.

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 6 May 2006 17:01 (nineteen years ago)

Believe

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 6 May 2006 19:52 (nineteen years ago)

Oh good. Because there's just not enough jingoistic bullshit from part-time football fans/opportunist cunts in a World Cup year.

Doktor Faustus (noodle vague), Saturday, 6 May 2006 19:55 (nineteen years ago)

Anyone else get to try those orange Mars Bars or did I scoff the lot?

dr lulu (dr lulu), Saturday, 6 May 2006 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

Orange Mars Bars sound so wrong.

Doktor Faustus (noodle vague), Saturday, 6 May 2006 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

Laurel, you can still find them! Sort of. Holiday candy editions have single servings in white, milk, and dark chocolates.
