Drunken careers advice thread

Say you had 2 job offers, one from a big fancy insurance company in the City of London, and the other from a website advertising company in Soho.

They both pay the same, but the insurance one is at a famous company that would look good on your CV, and probably have better benefits.

However, you're a lazy shit and don't really want to work somewhere you'll have to wear a suit. You also like the idea of working in Soho better than working in the city, cos then you could spend all yr hard earned cash in Berwick St record shops.

What would you do? Take the insurance job on the basis you'd probably get paid better in the long run plus you'd get 30 days holiday and they'd pay for you to do an MS certification thingy, or take the website job where you can dress casual and have less career prospects? But they might let you surf the net and listen to music at work, while the other company probably wouldn't?

Since this is the drunken careers advice thread, any advice along the lines of "tell them both to fuck off and dedicate your life to drinking strong white cider" is encouraged.

Take the suit job. Casual work environments are overrated compared to actual benefits and vacation time. Whether you're wearing a suit to work or a t-shirt, you're still at work.

I know everyone was dying to know - the insurance company didn't offer me the job in the end (despite assurances from their agent that they would) - so I didn't have to decide! Hurrah! So I'll be working in Soho, which is what I wanted anyway really. Yay.
