I want to go to bed soon. This is tricky.

don't go in. if your boss calls tomorrow just say 'sorry it's my first day'.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Sunday, 7 May 2006 20:52 (nineteen years ago)

Go in. If your boss looks surprised to see you, just tell him/her you were passing and you thought you'd pop in for a coffee. They will think you are mega mad keen and you will be much respected. Then you can go home and go to bed.

Or else, what Steve said.

come to my work instead. I'll feed you cake and you can have a doze under my desk all morning until I wake you up to take you for lunch. I heard a song in Carbon in London on Friday that I want you to find for me, please, also.

what was it Lara? Can you type out what it sounds like?

my boss's phone wasn't working, he sent me a text yesterday afternoon but it didn't work apparently. He called at 11, we open at 10, but he said his phone has been faulty lately so.......net result; I have today off.

I did call a co-worker who reckoned I had the day off, wrongly.

They were playing an album that was kind of lounge-ey and had a great easy listening, swing version of Rock the Casbah.

(I am fully aware that I may have walked into a situation where I will be laughed at from a great height when people recognise this album and tell me my taste is shit. I liked it, ok?)

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 May 2006 17:28 (nineteen years ago)

No, Taha isn't loungy.

Yes, I was just realising that.

Lara, are you sure it wasn't... Guns of Brixton?

Alba (Alba), Monday, 8 May 2006 17:31 (nineteen years ago)

nouvelle vague?

ai lien (kold_krush), Monday, 8 May 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

Lara it's Richard Cheese-The Funny Side of the Moon.

It's much more crazy and I guess funnier than all the other covers albums. It's great though, in places. The "Rock The Casbah" is fairly tame, compared to the swinging version of "People=Shit" by Slipknot.

That's it! Brilliant - I must have it. I just heard a couple of tracks in the store and it was making me smile.
