ha!

owing to an ancient 'byker grove' plotline, i can only hear 'quasar' in a geordie accent. most peculiar.

It's an entrance to hell...

ZOT! (davidcorp), Monday, 8 May 2006 13:59 (nineteen years ago)

did you so solo?

So this is not about astronomy, then?

Tracey Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 8 May 2006 14:34 (nineteen years ago)

i have quasared, but never in archway.

the Enrique who acts like some kind of good taste gestapo (Enrique), Monday, 8 May 2006 14:35 (nineteen years ago)

I went when I was 11 and came bottom out of everyone in there. That was me and Quasaring pretty much done with.

i'm up for it.

the one in archway never looks open though.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 May 2006 15:20 (nineteen years ago)

it's like the snooker club - which i have recently discovered to be actually open and functional!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 May 2006 15:22 (nineteen years ago)

I rule at Quasar. I went on a company day out and came third overall and was the highest scoring female. Despite my total lack of athletic ability, I suddenly get inspired when faux-violence is on offer. See also paintballing.

It is tremendous fun with a lazer gun, after all.

ZOT!

ZOT! (davidcorp), Monday, 8 May 2006 15:42 (nineteen years ago)

i once got pulled out of the game for running :0(

the Enrique who acts like some kind of good taste gestapo (Enrique), Tuesday, 9 May 2006 07:36 (nineteen years ago)

Huh? You're not allowed to run?

I've never done Quasar, only LazerQuest, which I assumed was the same, but you're allowed to run in that one. At least you were in the Reading one.

I was also unsure whether the Archway Quasar was still open and operating!

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Tuesday, 9 May 2006 12:16 (nineteen years ago)

i think it was for running. this was in 1993.

the Enrique who acts like some kind of good taste gestapo (Enrique), Tuesday, 9 May 2006 12:31 (nineteen years ago)

Has anyone actually done LazerQuest / Quasar since 1993?

Teh HoBBler (the pirate king), Tuesday, 9 May 2006 16:02 (nineteen years ago)

i did lazerquest in uni. a couple times. it felt like the 80s while we were inside though (but also in the future).

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 9 May 2006 16:13 (nineteen years ago)

whilst in uni. not actually inside a university establishment.

and there were these kids who were doing all the 'covering up the sensors' cheat, so we got one of them in a full nelson and kept shooting him.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 9 May 2006 16:14 (nineteen years ago)

oh shit i think i may have done it in freshers week.

it felt like the 80s while we were inside though (but also in the future).

totally otm.

woah man, the 5-0 were in there this evening. what's the deal?

the confusing situation Enrique currently endures (Enrique), Monday, 15 May 2006 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, God, I've just remembered a horrific "bonding exercise" I was once forced to endure at a LazerQuest/Quasar-type place about ten years ago as part of a volunteer project I was involved in. It's the sort of thing you think might be good fun until you do it and then you realise it is soul-crushingly rubbish.
