Even the tories thought that was a bit extreme.

It's not like Labour Party members to claim moral superiority.

I knew you would be 1st to reply!

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Thursday, 11 May 2006 22:55 (nineteen years ago)

I bet this MSP will be in the papers saying Babyshambles should be banned from Scotland next.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Thursday, 11 May 2006 22:56 (nineteen years ago)

But Babyshambles is a contraceptive!

yes indeed, ladies and gentlemen. little bit of politics there. my name's grimly fiendish. goodnight!

no, i mean, really, for FUCK'S SAKE (grimlord), Friday, 12 May 2006 09:27 (nineteen years ago)

i mean, as i've said before round these parts, tongue only vaguely in cheek, i think everyone - addicts, MSPs, that bloke over there - should have to apply for some kind of licence to be a parent; that the "right" to have a child is so often abused it's enough to make you weep.

but:

1) that's unworkable.

2) i can't think of any authority fit to grant such a licence anyway.

3) but that's okay because i'm not an MSP; i'm a man in the pub coming up with vague and ill-formed ideas, then shrugging and going home to not have kids. (bad parenting? fuck me [1], i'd be terrible. i know it.)

4) this chump, however, is a fucking elected representative.

5) i'm leading the call for my boot to be added to his testicles. repeatedly.

[1] or don't.

"That way, we could reduce this problem and prevent some of those children coming to harm."
should read
"That way, we could reduce this problem and prevent some of those children."

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 12 May 2006 09:48 (nineteen years ago)

Is there anything about this in todays papers? I'm sure they will be treating this guy as a nutjob and rosie kane will be defending drug addicts in attempts to get their votes.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 12 May 2006 09:50 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Rosie Kane sitting in Mono eating a veggie burger.

Just thought I'd share that...

i'm on a DAY OFF today (hurrah!) so am lying in bed reading ILE and not reading the papers (too much like work). but i sincerely bloody hope people are putting the boot right in.

i didn't hear anyone talking about this in the office last night, but then i was up to my ears in legal misery about nicotine-replacement. and broken puzzle pages. hmph.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 12 May 2006 10:23 (nineteen years ago)

RJG (RJG), Friday, 12 May 2006 10:58 (nineteen years ago)

Focus group advised against it.

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Friday, 12 May 2006 11:04 (nineteen years ago)
