The big question: can they reach new depths for recruiting morons and scum into the house?

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:41 (nineteen years ago)

are you going to post on these threads?

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:43 (nineteen years ago)

Sporadically. Drunkly. Despairing for humanitily.

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:44 (nineteen years ago)

doesn't sound like you want to/should

"Thread 7 about Big Brother on I Love Everything, and The Lex has just admitted he's never heard of James Stewart"

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:48 (nineteen years ago)

Like half of BB's audience isn't haters.

So who was your fave personality from the last couple of series?

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:48 (nineteen years ago)

Also: "morons and scum" is a Dave Nice quote, innit?

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:50 (nineteen years ago)

SCIENCE, obviously.

(x-post)

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:50 (nineteen years ago)

what are you talking about?

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:50 (nineteen years ago)

crossposts

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:50 (nineteen years ago)

My point is that I'm surprised if people find the contestants charming, witty and fun to be around. And that's certainly not how I remember threads from previous series. Don't let this get in the way of being snide tho.

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:55 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, and that the programme didn't start out this way. At least in the first couple of series there were some quiet people who you got to know or get bored by as the show progressed. The casting policy recently seems to be based on ensuring a fight by day 3.

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 07:59 (nineteen years ago)

I blame GOS.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:04 (nineteen years ago)

Matt GOS, rumoured to be the 'celebrity'?

Rumoured Big Brother 7 contestant Shahbaz Choudhary has been described as the housemate from hell.

The cross-dressing Glaswegian apparently craves attention and has had a series of bust-ups with neighbours who are affected by his wild behaviour.

A friend told the Sunday Mirror, "He is every housemate's worst nightmare. When he tacks on to people, he sticks to them like a glue and won't leave them alone. Shahbaz seems unable to see how his behaviour affects other people. He may be nearly 40, but he is as self-obsessed as a teenager and desperate for fame.

"He goes out in fancy dress in a bid to get discovered, or at least get some attention. But it's this outlandish, attention-seeking behaviour that has led to clashes with neighbours as well as strangers. He just seems to rub people up the wrong way and that ends up in bust-ups."

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:19 (nineteen years ago)

SHAHBAZ MUST GO

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:19 (nineteen years ago)

SCUM

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:21 (nineteen years ago)

They're having a "celebrity" this year? Okay, I'm definitely not watching. Unfortunately that means I can't talk to N. or the kids for the next 2 months.

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:22 (nineteen years ago)

And yeah. SCUM.

Kenneth Anger Management (noodle vague), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:22 (nineteen years ago)

'A friend'!

koogs (koogs), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:40 (nineteen years ago)

Apparently this year there are no steps in the house, leading some to SPECULATE that they're putting someone in a wheelchair in.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:44 (nineteen years ago)

And here's what the News of the World claims for a line-up:

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/images/homepage/s1_01.jpg
BB Housemates. Back row: Imogen, Sezer, Bonnie, Lea, George, Nikki. Front row: Pete, Shahbaz, Lisa, Grace, Mikie and Richard

Sezer and Mikie must go.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:46 (nineteen years ago)

they are just choosing people now who have names that haven't previously been used.

am very tempted to splash out on a couple of dvd box sets and give the entire thing a miss this year.

koogs (koogs), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:55 (nineteen years ago)

Do you remember last year, one thread had a full list of contestants, pics, website, details the lot.

All of whom proved to be totally wrong.

If any of these areinthe house, this will be the first time!

Think about it: A newspaper proclaims the full list (or thereabouts). Newspaper sells loads extra. A week later, all the real names are into the house. Newspaper continues to sell loads. Do they apologise for incorrect listing? Do they ever apologise for anything, unless obliged to by specific court action?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:55 (nineteen years ago)

scum.

beanz (beanz), Monday, 15 May 2006 09:00 (nineteen years ago)

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 May 2006 09:01 (nineteen years ago)

The hairdressers at the bottom of our street has had a big poster for the last month saying "Dan is back!" It makes me smile every time I walk past.

There was a woman in one of the papers up here last week (can't remember which one, I picked it up on the train) who thought her daughter was going to be on it because she hadn't heard from her for a couple of weeks and her phone had gone dead. Her daughter is a dancer in a club in Majorca or Ibiza or somewhere. If my daughter was abroad and her phone was dead, I would be worried, I wouldn't be running off to the tabloids going "oh she must be a contestant in Big Brother", unless I was an attention seeking cockfarmer...oh, wait...

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 May 2006 14:54 (nineteen years ago)

apparently there's going to be a celebrity.

the confusing situation Enrique currently endures (Enrique), Monday, 15 May 2006 14:56 (nineteen years ago)

xpost ailsa is once again OTM.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 15 May 2006 14:59 (nineteen years ago)

i'm not going to watch it this year.

© grimly fiendish 2005 (grimlord), Monday, 15 May 2006 18:49 (nineteen years ago)

hahahahahahahahahahaha. You lasted about ten minutes into not watching Celebrity Big Brother (possibly because of some idiot texting you with "OMGLOL it's George Galloway WTFROFLOMG!")

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 15 May 2006 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

maybe the celebrity housemate will be Chantelle 8)

koogs (koogs), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 07:33 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, i thought that.

i want it to be pete doherty.

the confusing situation Enrique currently endures (Enrique), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 07:41 (nineteen years ago)

I want it to be Charles Manson.

Action Tim Vision (noodle vague), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 07:56 (nineteen years ago)

There is a rumour that there's a gay fashion journalist. Our former editor G has just gone all quiet, and our contributing editor P writes the BB books. CLIFFHANGER! Although I would be VERY surprised if it was G.

We here at House of Ed suffer under a ban - will there be some kind of alcohol/shouting at telly thing that's ORGANISED?

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:05 (nineteen years ago)

I saw S, at the art school, once

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:27 (nineteen years ago)

I mean shell, not S

I don't even know who S is

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:28 (nineteen years ago)

ah lovely Shell

Konal Doddz (blueski), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:28 (nineteen years ago)

i'm just going to come out and say it. Suzy's former editor is GALACTUS. it's all about the big megalomaniacal ego this BB (as usual).

Konal Doddz (blueski), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:30 (nineteen years ago)

I've been thinking about it and the contributing editor can only really be perry from harry enfield's kevin & perry

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:33 (nineteen years ago)

At any rate I'm in the line of fire for some magnificent gossip once this starts. Although I did laugh when I saw the job advert for Endemol in the paper yesterday - seems they want a programming cell of hip young gunslingers or something in GLESGAE. Any of yis bored?

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:38 (nineteen years ago)

Stop this madness people! Stop it now! No more of this speculation and interest! I WILL NOT watch this or care at all. Seriously, get out while you still can... Oh no...

Kv_nol (Kv_nol), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:40 (nineteen years ago)

I've been to their office (they're in the same building as one of the housing association offices)

didn't see anyone famous or find out anyone's name or first initial, though

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 08:40 (nineteen years ago)

RJG, you now owe me a new work computer too ;)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 09:29 (nineteen years ago)

GALACTUS TO WIN

Konal Doddz (blueski), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 09:51 (nineteen years ago)

I'm glad I'm ruining so many computers. Always happy to help. He's nothing without something to react to, ergo he's nothing.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 09:57 (nineteen years ago)

What's happening to the computers?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 09:58 (nineteen years ago)

suzy is making galactus do some superpowers on them.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 11:12 (nineteen years ago)

RJG keeps bringing the funnies, and i keep laughing and spitting coffee all over various computers.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 13:38 (nineteen years ago)

Galactus is nothing without something to react to.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 13:42 (nineteen years ago)

Hee hee. I'm just glad editor W shares the gossip, it's not like we have use for it IN the magazine...

Aww, RJG, you saw S? Rocking the Glasgow art scene on her PhD by day, posing for Nuts by night?

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

Shahbaz has already appeared on a couple of TV shows, including BBC3 medical show Sex, Warts And All, in which he was filmed naked having an intrusive sexual health check.

I saw this. He's horrible.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 15:31 (nineteen years ago)

I used to work, sometimes, in the same building as Endemol in Glasgow. I don't know any of them either, but I might have shared a lift with some of them once.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 15:57 (nineteen years ago)

The point is, some of you are EVIL when it comes to BB and conceivably the Endemol Crack Team would be in charge of getting the Scottish coontestants. Our not-so-secret mission to get N. on BB would thus be acely in the holey.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 16:17 (nineteen years ago)

About 18 years ago Shahbaz appeared on some yoof TV programme, on which his Wonder Woman routine was featured.

It appeared to consist (in its entirety) of his appearing on stage in costume and then spinning around on the spot to the WW theme tune, thus attaining self-realisation, but without actually turning into Lynda Carter.

How long until I see this footage again (and again)? Boats against the current, drawn back ceaselessly into the past ...

Harthill Services (Neil Willett), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 05:13 (nineteen years ago)

So Shabhaz and Galactus are definitely in the house tomorrow?

OHMIGOT IT'S TOMORROW!

Better kick off a first thread for this year! (later)

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 07:10 (nineteen years ago)

i'd make two or three!

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 08:59 (nineteen years ago)
