They gotta call it Die Hardest.

Zwan (miccio), Friday, 19 May 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

Will the pain never end? (And to think I thought he was good-looking when I was in 8th grade.) Why, God, WHY?!

Sara Robinson-Coolidge (Sara R-C), Friday, 19 May 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

Will John McTiernan be out of jail in time?

Zwan (miccio), Friday, 19 May 2006 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

As long as they can prop him up in front of exploding shit, I will give them my money.

OTM Die Hardest.

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Friday, 19 May 2006 19:58 (nineteen years ago)

Bruce Willis is attached to star in the fourth installment of the Die Hard series, tentatively called Die Hard: Ultimatum. Though no villains have yet been cast, rumors are swirling around Liam Neeson, Ray Winstone, and--most intriguingly--Sean Bean. As far as the director is concerned, John McTiernan, who has directed two of the three previous films in the series, is out of the running after a series of legal troubles. Insiders tell us that Willis' top choice is the late John Frankenheimer.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 19 May 2006 20:24 (nineteen years ago)

There is nothing intriguing about Sean Bean.

Zwan (miccio), Friday, 19 May 2006 20:28 (nineteen years ago)

Nein, Ich leibe dich, herr milo z.

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Friday, 19 May 2006 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

Sean Bean Jovi

Zwan (miccio), Friday, 19 May 2006 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

Ah, Anthony beat me to it.

Why is Sean Bean "most intriguingly"? I'd rather watch Ray Winstone any day. Better still Ben Kingsley reprising his Sexy Beast performance.

Action Tim Vision (noodle vague), Friday, 19 May 2006 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

3 was the one where lars gruber instructed john mcclane to go on a treasure hunt around new york city as revenge for his brother's death.

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 20 May 2006 03:41 (nineteen years ago)

for some reason he also instructed him to take on a sidekick, samuel l. jackson.

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 20 May 2006 03:41 (nineteen years ago)

Trivia: During its Pay Per View run in 1996, a bonus featurette followed the presentation of the movie which included footage of some scenes with additional dialogue such as the scene in the Federal Reserve Bank where Felix Little asks "You're in the flower business, Mr. Vanderflug?" and added is Simon replying "It's Vanderfluge, it rhymes with tulip." explaining why Felix pronounces the name correctly from that point on. This featurette is not included in the Special Edition DVD.

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 20 May 2006 03:42 (nineteen years ago)

3 is actually pretty good.

...and it pisses me off.
Die Hard 2 is a better sequel and movie than Die Hard with a Vengeance. Sure Die Hard 2 is not perfect, it has alot of improbabilities, but it's an action movie. Suspension of disbelief. Die Hard 2 has Bonnie Bedelia, Reginald VelJohnson and William Atherton all returning. Die Hard with a Vengeance has some "Valley Girl" sounding woman on the phone as his wife(why bother?).

Die Hard 2 feels more like Die Hard 2 while Die Hard with a Vengeance feels more like Last Boyscout 2. McClane doesn't need a partner. Yeah, he gets help along the way but in the end it is McClane alone who saves the day. And what's with the five o'clock shadow and hangover? Joe Hallenbeck, anyone?

I just have to vent. I just don't believe they couldn't even mention maybe a quick reason why he left the LAPD. Some people will say we are left to assume, but you know assuming makes an ASS out of U and ME. I think Die Hard with a Vengeance should be disowned from the series and the people who say Die Hard with a Vengeance is better than the first, should be shot. They should also can part 4 before they really kill the coolest action hero of all time.

Yippee-ki-yay...

I'd say the Jamacian Cab driver. :-) Oh yeah... and if you've ever been to Harlem, especially Amsterdam and 137th (If that is right, that intersection doesn't even exist) but the areas around it still to this day don't have any taxi's running. Its too hood to have taxi's (sorry if that sounds bad).

David R., Monday, 4 August 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

i think there's some law in awesome franchises to saddle your charismatic go it alone hero(es) with increasingly whiny, annoying sidekicks as the series progresses. though the drop from samuel l jackson to apple kid/kevin smith was an especially steep one.

omar little, Monday, 4 August 2008 19:00 (seventeen years ago)

David R., Monday, 4 August 2008 19:17 (seventeen years ago)

i think olyphant square boring style works well in deadwood esp since he's just basically a hair trigger psycho trying to keep himself in check but in this movie he should have either gone for his "go"/dorff style or just not been in this movie at all.

omar little, Monday, 4 August 2008 19:17 (seventeen years ago)

just not down with the evil hackers as villains. probably said that like 10x already.

omar little, Monday, 4 August 2008 19:20 (seventeen years ago)

I want to say that TO was coping his surly / boring shtick from PSH's turn in MI:III (who was able to pull it off), but I think I'm drawing this parallel because of Maggie Q (who needed a LOT more screen time in DHIV).

David R., Monday, 4 August 2008 19:21 (seventeen years ago)

Please add a "p" to "coping" up there.
