This is nothing

JW (ex machina), Friday, 19 May 2006 21:06 (nineteen years ago)

The beginning of this week was really horrible for me -- not just the sneezing but the nose-blowing and the sore throat and the exhaustion and the listlessness.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 19 May 2006 21:16 (nineteen years ago)

even I'm noticing it and I'm not bothered by allergies. My sympathies to the sufferers.

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 20 May 2006 00:45 (nineteen years ago)

I thought I had a horrible cold but maybe it's just pollen allergies. I'm allergic to basically everything in the spring.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Saturday, 20 May 2006 00:48 (nineteen years ago)

the night before last my allergies were so bad that I couldn't sleep. my sinus were all runny/stuffy/headachy, but the worst part was my ears: I could hear my booming pulse inside my eardrum and then I could actually hear my sinuses draining - you know, that sound of a little water going down a pipe? that was in my ear. and this is the first year I've ever experienced allergies too! I blame city pollutants.

finally cought a couple hours in the late morning, but it was horrible.

allegedly where i live (greenville, sc) is like the second-worst place for allergies and pollen in the US.

Mr Jones (Mr Jones), Saturday, 20 May 2006 02:10 (nineteen years ago)

i've dreamt of rubies! (Mandee), Saturday, 20 May 2006 03:13 (nineteen years ago)

who here has had to do the allergy test where you lie on your stomach and they pin-prick your back numerous times with various allergens to see which you react to? FUN

guess papers (eman), Saturday, 20 May 2006 03:26 (nineteen years ago)

hulhhhh i did it when i was like 7. i don't even think it was that bad but at that age i was into making a big show of things and being a pain in the ass so i cried and screamed through the whole thing. the nurse wanted to murder me. i did not even have allergies! just asthma.

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Saturday, 20 May 2006 03:28 (nineteen years ago)

i had allergic conjunctivitis last month, that was a new one to me. used to get bronchitis in the last week in april EVERY YEAR, but that stopped a few yrs back. having to get shots in the arm every two weeks sucked too

tehresa (tehresa), Saturday, 20 May 2006 03:43 (nineteen years ago)

i thought this npr report was interesting. about how the preference in urban areas for planting male trees (because female trees drop messy seeds and fruit) has made urban allergy problems a lot worse (because the males produce the pollen). so that a lot of big cities have worse pollen problems than your average bucolic meadow.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Saturday, 20 May 2006 04:48 (nineteen years ago)

try being allergic to bees you pussies

Tracey Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 20 May 2006 04:51 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, my dad became allergic to bees at some point. Not funny.

In any case, JW is right sort of. When I started this thread, it seems allergies were segueing into a nasty headcold that's still got me on teh ropes. @#$$%^&**(!!!!!

Asda now sells test-yourself-for-allergies kits. Though if you're allergic to cats or pollen or whatever I bet you're already aware of the fact.

Sons Of The Redd Desert (Ken L), Saturday, 27 May 2006 12:05 (nineteen years ago)

oh you guys haven't seen shit. out here (montana), there's been a thin yellow dusting on EVERYTHING. like, the street ran yellow when we got a bit of rain. you have to sweep the shit off the doorstep.

thankfully, i am strong genetically and haven't been bothered.

gbx (skowly), Saturday, 27 May 2006 16:27 (nineteen years ago)

I WOD LEIK TO VIST MONTANAS

Jimmy Mod: NOIZE BOARD GRIL COMPARISON ANALYST (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Saturday, 27 May 2006 16:36 (nineteen years ago)

Tracer why are we "pussies" when bees are much much more avoidable than pollen?
