Shit, Mark's screenshot really makes me want to play internet poker.

I can see where the addiction comes from. When I play poker with my mates there's a definite urge to play 'just one more hand', even if it's like three in the morning and you've got work the next day.

(btw, I just realised the pic above is really unclear - it's my friend Niall HITTING ON TWENTY by accident and getting an ace)

I assume those are in-progress lines - it was a blowout so you were betting on a 1% chance of a comeback.

anyway re: the thread topic i do not have enough money to be cool with gambling so it is not a thing that i do

i saw a lottery truck one time, like a food truck but it sold lottery tickets. at first i thought "oh neat" because it was all brightly colored and freshly painted but as soon as i started thinking about it i lost all hope, again.

because why would it exist except to go places where people can't normally buy lottery tickets, i.e. food deserts

like a bright peppy expeditionary force to squeeze a few more dollars out of the underclass

there's probably a more benign reason for it but we should eat the rich regardless imo

When I smoked and drank I liked playing craps or roulette at a casino but the existence of apps has sucked all the joy out of gambling as a concept even when it doesn't involve sports or apps.

Respectfully disagree, I enjoy watching the odds change after each play
But understand cutting off when the game starts

calstars, Sunday, 12 January 2025 21:32 (one year ago)

I don't gamble because I am a pessimist and expect to lose

Halfway there but for you, Monday, 13 January 2025 03:05 (one year ago)
