Taking sides.....

i can't choose. i like them both, as long as they are for real. its people who are too touchy feely that i am wary of. you know, like theatre students who just hug each other all the time but backstab just as often.

How can you choose? They both have their place where I prefer one to the other. I like to sit somewhere in the middle.

electric sound of jim, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I have no preference.

Luke, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ok. I do not mean to start a war. I just wonder if anybody will say anything else besides "I like them both, but at different moments in time". Do you consider yourself to be one or the other? Your friends? Which plays a larger or more substantial role in your life? Etc. etc.

Honda, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Gosh... I think I'm both.

(Rapped boastfully)

My face goes flush
I flash a goofy grin
I stammer and I stutter
Don't know where to begin
And I don't change much after sake or gin

When I'm on the mike
You can stop right there
I've never been anywhere near
I wouldn't dare

Well people make quiver
And people make me shiver
Loud people make me want to jump in a river
I can't pluck up the courage to flirt
I'm the world champion heavyweight introvert

I *think* I'm an introvert but everyone tells me I'm an extrovert. Hm.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

some people would class me as an extrovert simply because i'm outspoken, but actually i'm quite introverted. i don't socialise much at parties and i prefer one-to-one encounters. at parties i just find the nearest corner and either listen to the music or dance to the music, even if no-one else is (and thats usually the case), as if i'm alone in my bedroom. i don't talk to people much at all, except for the occasional token effort. its not cos i'm not interested in them but because i never know what to say.

I'm an extremely insecure extrovert so I come across as an introvert a lot of the time. Extrovert with mild social phobia? Am I talking shite?

electric sound of jim, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

no ... that makes sense to me.

Generally I am introverted. Around strangers, around friends, whatever, as long as it's a social context. When I've got to do something in a group and it's more businesslike, then I'm bossy as hell to get things over with and people don't like me.

I like extroverts because they're easier to be friends with. Shy people take a really long time to get to know, although they can be quite nice once you do.

Maria, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I took a quiz in a magazine that said I was an extrovert, but that is so wrong. I'm too shy to be an extrovert!

rosemary, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You know where I lie on this one, Honda. It's almost humorous how well this all corresponds to life. Introvert, is the way for me though. Though efforts to become extrovert are slowly manifesting. Very slowly.

kimera, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think I'm an introvert. But, then I can be extrovert sometimes, I'm not really that shy around starngers anymore. Who knows? All those tests like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator say I am Introvert. I think most of the people I know are probably introverts.

jel, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Whatever you think you are, you're the opposite. I have no idea what I am which at least means I can't be horribly deluded.

N., Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I know what I am. I am a shy show-off.
