"MOM! WHY DID! YOU DO THIS! TO ME!"

Eppy (Eppy), Friday, 2 June 2006 18:03 (nineteen years ago)

Creeeeeeeepy.

I just watched that (bad) film "But I'm a Cheerleader" and thought, come on, the ex-gay movement can't be that cartoonishly ridiculous . . . . but, yep, it really *is* that ridiculous.

It's from CNN.

My mom once guilt tripped the younger me into visiting a psychologist when I came out to her. Turns out I was tricked; he was a morbidly obese CATHOLIC psychologist named Dr. Mang0 whose office was in Chelsea and who paid his rent by "counelling" women not have abortions. No lie.

He also said that I had sexual feelings for my grandmother because I liked the movie Harold & Maude. No insurance coverage in that place.

So yes. Absolutely fucking ridiculous.

elmo argonaut (allocryptic), Friday, 2 June 2006 18:33 (nineteen years ago)

That wasn't any ordinary psychologist. That was a COMIC BOOK SUPERVILLAIN.

mummy wrapped in bacon (nickalicious), Friday, 2 June 2006 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

good lord he's nutz.

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 2 June 2006 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

dude, you are still so totally gay!!!

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Friday, 2 June 2006 19:02 (nineteen years ago)

elmo, for some reason, I read that at first as saying that the venerable Doktor thought you had the hots for your granmother because you liked the movie Harold & Kumar, a conclusion I found odd, to say the least.

M. White (Miguelito), Friday, 2 June 2006 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, it sucked. Bad. Did I mention that during the third session he fell asleep? I didn't return after that. I really have trouble believing that he was certified to do ANYTHING, let alone psychological couselling.

elmo argonaut (allocryptic), Friday, 2 June 2006 19:16 (nineteen years ago)

He does sound uniquely unqualified, but if you never had any abortions later then God's will is being honored.

I would, of course, deny any involvement if anyone were to firebomb his office, but I WOULD be happy about it.

elmo argonaut (allocryptic), Friday, 2 June 2006 19:22 (nineteen years ago)

i dont understand how come you do gay stuff to cure gayness

jhoshea (scoopsnoodle), Friday, 2 June 2006 19:25 (nineteen years ago)

Dude, it doesn't sound like that dude could successfully counsel someone to do anything. Although I guess I've convinced people of thigns that are absolutely untrue in the past, so I see your point.

Eppy (Eppy), Friday, 2 June 2006 20:12 (nineteen years ago)

xpost

I think the basic idea is that homosexual desire is a misdirected form of parent-child same sex affection.

emotionally distant father + overbearing mother = recipe for FAGZ

elmo argonaut (allocryptic), Friday, 2 June 2006 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

lds social services helped me on my first ex gay experience, the first question from the fellow was how do you feel about yr mother, he didnt even say hello.

he also had a home office, and his wife looked too relief soc stepford for me to feel comfortable.

though i do think people need to get hugged more. (and the hugging really seemed oddly unerotic)

anthony easton (anthony), Friday, 2 June 2006 20:43 (nineteen years ago)

note how the therapist purposefully crosses his legs before inviting the patient to snuggle - there will be no genital contact here!

and then the patient's response when asked if he felt a sexual connection - no, i feel very safe and comforted, it feels wonderful - nothing sexual there.

jhoshea (scoopsnoodle), Friday, 2 June 2006 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

xxpost - so you want to fuck your dad because he ignored you?

playing had to get - works every time!
