I just watched this documentary, and I'm not sure what to say about it. I had hoped to see footage of discos, like the loft or the paradise garage, but that was a small part of the film. Has anyone seen it, any thoughts on it?

They really should have called it "Gay Sex on a Plane".

I saw this in the theater. There were only 4 other people, and I was the only woman.

I was disappointed that they had "Do You Wanna Funk" on the soundtrack... that came out in the 80s!

Discos should have been an absolutely huge part of the film. Discos that sold poppers. What were they thinking?

The only disco they really spent time on was Studio 54, which was disappointing. The saint was talked about; and Mel Cheren of west end records, makes a few appearences. But mostly as the titles states, it's really about gay sex, and a lot of it.

So does Peter Biskind think that gay sex was better in the '70s too?

Marty S. and Coppola fucking on the floor of Studio 54 is not an image any of us needed, thanks.

i found the soundtrack to the Pacino flick Cruising this weekend. i'd never heard of it before and was surprised there was such a movie (straight cop goes undercover in late 70s bdsm world to catch serial killer). unfortunately the soundtrack was way less gay than i was hoping. i was looking for disco & hi nrg and it was rock and punk

Willy DeVille - heat of the moment / The Cripples - loneliness / John Hiatt - spy boy / Madelynn Von Ritz - when i close my eyes i see blood / Mutiny - lump // Rough Trade - shakedown / Willy DeVille - pullin' my string / Germs - lions share / The Cripples - hypnotize / Willy DeVille - it's so easy

I’m a real nice guy
And I’m free as hell
To be a cornpone faggot
Dressing really really well
In my big black boots
‘n my denim Daisy Dukes
I got my bleached blond hair
And my leather underwear
You know I’m fine
Coz I work it all the time
