Now, I'm not naive enough to expect a fair drugs policy from the Home Office, but a little bit of sodding consistancy might be nice.

I mean, it's only been, what, two years?, since weed was downgraded to degree that for the average smoker it might as well be decriminalised, and now they hit us with this shit? Are they deliberately trying to confuse people into going to prison?

Especially since they found 85p worth of resin at John Reid's house about a month ago, in a guest bedroom, in a security sweep. Cue long embarrassed explanations about why it could not possibly be his or anyone's in his family.

There is a great story doing the rounds about the requisitioning of a record company person's house near Hay for Bill Clinton, where the previous guests had been a vowel-eschewing bunch of Scots caners, and the sweepers removed an alphabet's worth of goodies with nary a whisper.
