The debate between "Populist" and "Highbrow"?

The crazy people and their wacky ideas?

Actors/Producers being "touched" by the tragedy proposed?

This was on last night (Monday), and it's like the original "Pop Stars" i.e. no phone-in selection, crossed with "The Apprentice"

Basically, the show called for new plays, one of which goes straight onto the West-End Stage.

i thought it was quite good.

Seriously, Try Punching This Guy in the Face and See What Happens (Enrique), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 12:54 (nineteen years ago)

Absolute luvvie rubbish. Highly watchable though I agree. Was hoping Neil Pearson was going to be more like the Richard Finch character he played in Bridget Jones - all hilariously lechy. Alas no, all pompous "I want her world to get lost. Bahahahaha!" Can't believe that mad agent bird nearly burst into tears over Asda man's attempt. Wimps!

So many highlights...

We were like "No, that's a shite idea, carry on.." especially with the "last 24 hours of Marilyn Monroe" .. "Never been the subject of a play" NO BUT A SHEDLOAD OF DOCUMENTARIES THOUGH!! and then to add "smellitheatre" just to make the most of a shite ideainthefirstplace...

But to be fair, we were like ".. actually, that's not too bad, carry on.." a few times.

Hahaha - prawn, come to my office and call the mad agent bird a wimp. Or, don't, and avoid being eviscerated :)

She's for real then?

I couldn't get over her "Now that's a real playwright" and her "talk of her writing club" put down. She's got condescending off to a fine art!

i liked her!

This week seemed to miss out a chunk where they whittled the list down to three. Or was that me who missed it?

The three were basicaly 1) Woman picks up man, he's Jesus. 2) Fear of Flying in Iceland 3) Racist Grandad

and the winner was 1)

Next week, staging/publicity/casting. Depending on how long the series is, I guess...

Woman picks up man, he's Jesus.

Is this one a sort of fetish thing, then?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 08:15 (nineteen years ago)

Roughage Crew (Enrique), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 08:16 (nineteen years ago)

...and have they cast Amanda Platell as the woman?

(disgraceful self xpost)

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 08:17 (nineteen years ago)

Ah, that'll be why then xpost. They're not exactly flogging this show, are they?

Anyone see ep2?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 08:36 (nineteen years ago)

They're not exactly flogging this show, are they?

I would watch it if they were... ;-)

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 20 June 2006 09:03 (nineteen years ago)

I did! Not at ALL surprised that weepy moaning woman got through, although how they justified flying that speccy fule off to ICELAND with A Director to rewrite his dull aeroplane drama I hav no idea, were the expenses people all pissed that day or something? I preferred RACIST GRANDAD!

But then again I haven't been to the theatre since "Joseph and His Technicolour Dreamcoat" with Philip Schofield. OR Jason Donovan, I can't actually REMEMBER lawks. I wonder if this could be information, I could find on Wikipedia. WEB 2.0!!
