"Even so, washing after intercourse is at least some precaution against AIDS

Um, I can't imagine that the kind of washing that would be required for this to be true would be preferable to, you know, condom.

Oh god, now I have "Lysol Douche" in my head. Great.

quincie (quincie), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:35 (nineteen years ago)

Ally it is so nice outside, maybe that is a little bit happy face emoticon? But hey we should drink, that makes everything so much better.

quincie (quincie), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:36 (nineteen years ago)

for what it's worth i liked the other thread title

...122 hours of beer (part 2) (teenagequiet), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:37 (nineteen years ago)

I heard on NPR this morning that if we all drink four cups of coffee a day our livers will be just fine with the alcohol abuse. PROVEN BY SCIENCE.

Hi ZR? Are you happy with your life?

quincie (quincie), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:37 (nineteen years ago)

Coffee everyone--seriously! Get some now! (Tea no good, by the way).

The book also states that the douche is an acceptable method of woman's contraception, the only problem being that teenage girls do not tend to carry these with them.

Feel better Allz.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:41 (nineteen years ago)

So basically if you just work your kidneys to the bone and piss 40 times a day you have less chance of toxins sticking around long enough to do lasting damage.

TOMBOT (TOMBOT), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:48 (nineteen years ago)

In Jr. High it was generally accepted that a can of Diet Coke would do the job in a pinch. Fortunately kids seem to have ready access to those things.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

Oddly, Stephen, it made sense either way.

Brian Miller (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:54 (nineteen years ago)

SODA DOUCHE.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 14:28 (nineteen years ago)

Fort Reno schedule is up. Set aside Thursday, August 3 as a day of feasts and celebration.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 14:56 (nineteen years ago)

Sometimes I feel like Fort Reno Schedule announcement day is a bigger deal then any of the individual shows. BUT NOT THIS YEAR. Hard Tomorrows, Georgie James, The Fake Accents? I wouldn't want to be the "TBA" to follow that.

Brian Miller (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 15:02 (nineteen years ago)

More like TBPwned.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 15:06 (nineteen years ago)

also q, yeah, i think i'm fairly happy with my life at the moment. i'm a little on the poor end of things right now thanks to recording costs (DIY is fucking expensive!), and of course i have a whole host of neuroses and complexes and self-defeating behaviors that are never going away just like everyone else does, but i've got my shit together about as well as i've ever had it right now. i'm happy w/my girlfriend, i'm happy with my friends and social life and housing situation, work is at least bearable if boring, i love my band and everyone in it, and i actually might accomplish a legitimate thing-i've-always-wanted-to-do (releasing record). but i just drank a lot of coffee so some of this is probably the dopamine talking.

also this is something to be very happy about: http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=triangle&id=4265345

mookieproof (mookieproof), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 15:23 (nineteen years ago)

I am always thirsty! And I am upping my coffee consumption for just this reason!

Guys if I was single I would totally go on dates with random dudes from matchdotcom just so that ya'll could have FAP amusement.

quincie (quincie), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:45 (nineteen years ago)

THAT'S HOW MUCH I HEART YOU!

quincie (quincie), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:46 (nineteen years ago)

You know what, I'ma start doing that anyway. Except I'll use eHarmony cos I'd like my objects of ridicule to be emotionally compatible with me on the 37 levels, you know?

Allyzay Rofflesbot (allyzay), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:46 (nineteen years ago)

p3+3 = d4+3?
p3 = d4
p = d4*(1/3)

TOMBOT (TOMBOT), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:49 (nineteen years ago)

jesus, people really want a place to live in DC, don't they? i posted an ad for a new roomie for my house about two hours ago and already have 11 responses.

...122 hours of beer (part 2) (teenagequiet), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:50 (nineteen years ago)

That would be great if all of the people attempting to fuck around with eHarmony got matched together.

Jesus Dan (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:51 (nineteen years ago)

OK maybe I'd up the ante and go nervedotcom. Because the chances of my pulling a total freak would be pretty good, I bet.

xpost ZR, pls to post answers to roomie questionnaires here and we will pick perfect roomie for you!

quincie (quincie), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:52 (nineteen years ago)

get a new roomate on eharmony!

Brian Miller (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:54 (nineteen years ago)

Let's just go to the "Anything Goes" section of CraigsList and see what that scores us.

Allyzay Rofflesbot (allyzay), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 16:56 (nineteen years ago)

^^^ not too far from my other roommate's ideal scenario

...122 hours of beer (part 2) (teenagequiet), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 17:11 (nineteen years ago)

jesus, people really want a place to live in DC, don't they? i posted an ad for a new roomie for my house about two hours ago and already have 11 responses.

which explains why, when i was looking for a sublet, all the inquiries I sent to craigslist ads could've just as usefully gone into a black hole.

pleased to mitya (mitya), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 17:15 (nineteen years ago)

hi, dc thread.

does anyone want a late night shots invite? i want to give a bunch away before they delete my profile again.

p@reene (Pareene), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 17:23 (nineteen years ago)

Judging from what my observations at Ms. Significant's alma mater this weekend, going to strangers' high school reunions would be a great way to find your soulmate, especially if you're into emotionally vulnerable divorcees with kids.

After a few free beers total strangers kept trying to convince me we'd sat next to each other in Mechanical Drawing II during the first Bush administration.

Stephen X (Stephen X), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 17:25 (nineteen years ago)

Stephen you must have gotten about a lifetime's worth of exemplary-significant points for going to that thing!

quincie (quincie), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 17:26 (nineteen years ago)

plz to explain 4lex?

...122 hours of beer (part 2) (teenagequiet), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 17:30 (nineteen years ago)

hi q!

daer virginia: why are the queens library, the brooklyn library and the other-three-boroughs library separate?

mookieproof, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 02:38 (eighteen years ago)

It all has to do with the library systems developing independently before the boroughs joined together. Not sure why NYPL got the Bronx and S.I. though.

Queens Libr@ry has a good reputation (#1 circulating library in America) though what it's actually like to work there I guess I'll have to find out for myself. QL also brought a blimp to ALA:

I have TWO signage review meetings this week. I'm number 17 on the agenda for one and number 31 on the other. How does a review board even schedule a meeting with 31 items on the agenda?

Last night they got to us (#18, as it turned out) about 2 1/2 hours into the meeting.

Tomorrow's meeting starts at 9am, but we're not expected to be up until after lunch.
