When I was 11, I was given all of my grandma's old issues of Cat Fancy and Cats magazines as a gift. I also had my own subscription. I tore out the centerfolds from all of them and covered the inside of my tiny closet. Yes, they have CENTERFOLDS.

I love going to the vet with our cats because they have piles and piles of Cat Fancy magazines and it's the only time I don't feel like a crazy cat lady for reading and thoroughly enjoying them.

Similarly, I love going over to visit my grandparents because they have piles and piles of People magazines and it's the only time I don't feel like a big dummy for reading it and thoroughly enjoying them.

Those talking kitties look just like BREED-X-PLOSION brand kitties that runnethed over cups, buckets, abandoned cars, empty ditches, pig troughs and other sundry half-empty spaces. The place I grew up was like a Romero movie but with malnourished eye-booger kittens stumbling everywhere instead of zombies. Getting run over, mewling, trying to eat bicycle chains because they already ate all the leaves and string they could find. Those kitties do not look healthy.
