Football match? What football match?

Why this one? Is is because england expects every striker to put at least one past the minnows?

Are you watching it while here?

No?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:13 (nineteen years ago)

I'm happily watching it. Or at least watching a Net feed of it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:16 (nineteen years ago)

i am not watching it. i have no choice but to listen to it though.

koogy wonderland (koogs), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:17 (nineteen years ago)

in fact, given that the rest of the office is crammed around the tv i may as well go home.

koogy wonderland (koogs), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:18 (nineteen years ago)

Just looked at the TV in t'other room. 0-0 after 28 mins.

rivettig.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:28 (nineteen years ago)

Our office TV has a split screen, I am watching the tennis :D

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:33 (nineteen years ago)

T&T who cares, wake me up when its Sweden.

Rufus 3000 (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:34 (nineteen years ago)

You know, if anyone was actually going to launch a terrorist attack on London, NOW would be the time.

I've got headphones on so I can't hear the pub downstairs. It feels like the end of the world, though. The office and streets are deserted.

Sundogs at 22 Degrees (kate), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:37 (nineteen years ago)

I am thinking that if I leave the office before the match finishes I am going to have quite a comfortable bus ride home, with maybe a SEAT and stuff!

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

That's a good point. When does it end? Must try to aim for a train before that, as it will be awful when it finishes.

Sundogs at 22 Degrees (kate), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:48 (nineteen years ago)

I guess get out before 6:30 for a clear run.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:51 (nineteen years ago)

Argh, well, I've missed the first train - next one is at 7.40 so might be cutting it close, but hopefully people will still be finishing their pints then?

Sundogs at 22 Degrees (kate), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:54 (nineteen years ago)

7:40?

Second half just about to start now...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 15 June 2006 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

Nice to see Andy Murray keeping up the Scottish tradition by going out in the first round. Home before the postcards and all that.

Hello Sunshine (Hello Sunshine), Thursday, 15 June 2006 20:27 (nineteen years ago)

killjoys

michael wells (michael w.), Thursday, 15 June 2006 21:16 (nineteen years ago)

i got cross and yelled at our sports desk to "grow up" earlier. it's very difficult to work with grown men going OOOOOH and EEEEUUUGH and stuff every time some tit kicks a ball.

and, with me being an englishman in scotland, people expected me to really care about tonight's game. NO, FUCKTARDS, I COULDN'T CARE LESS. I COULDN'T HATE FOOTBALL MORE IF I TRIED.

thank you, ILX, for letting me vent.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 15 June 2006 21:21 (nineteen years ago)

You just hate fun. Admit it.

Teh HoBBercraft (the pirate king), Thursday, 15 June 2006 21:51 (nineteen years ago)

actually, yeh, you could be right :)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 15 June 2006 22:01 (nineteen years ago)

ts: people over-enthusiastic about sports v. people who go to great lengths to let you know how much they hate sports

(see also: computer dorks v. people who "aren't math people")

> You know, if anyone was actually going to launch a terrorist attack on London, NOW would be the time.

and you'd kill nobody except young mums. i walked home during the second half of the first half (iyswim) and it was like 28 days later out there.

got home, bought ice cream, dug out a couple of cds i haven't heard for a while (licorice, kraftwork) and sat and read the paper. tv on in same room, sound down low, glanced up in time to see both goals go in. so much better than being crammed in a room with drunken, rowdy colleagues. it's not entirely about hating football, it's the FEF and all the palaver that goes with it.

koogy wonderland (koogs), Friday, 16 June 2006 08:18 (nineteen years ago)

glad i watched it at work because it was disappointing in the end...well, until the end. sort of.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 16 June 2006 09:18 (nineteen years ago)

Ned, which site have you been watching a net feed from?

paulhw (paulhw), Saturday, 17 June 2006 21:03 (nineteen years ago)

we had a power cut halfway through the first half last night. heard the goal reported whilst listening to LBC (some conversation about yellowstone park). saw second goal. then watched the TnT game on the other side on my tv capture card in the computer whilst doing other things.

koogy wonderland (koogs), Wednesday, 21 June 2006 07:26 (nineteen years ago)

Nice Goal, Joe Cole.

I watched the Summer Art exhibition. Vic Reeves got two in.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 21 June 2006 07:27 (nineteen years ago)

No football for me - was off having posh dinner with camp friend 3ric at St. John. 3ric has always been as gay as a window; he's a high-school friend who is now a swish Upper East Side interior designer and furniture fella. Dinner with 3ric like being in Vanity Fair editorial meeting; he dished on sex lives of minor Euro royalty (theme: They're All Gay) and it turned out that his bitter rival is this tool of a rich kid I went to college with.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 21 June 2006 07:40 (nineteen years ago)

> I watched the Summer Art exhibition.

taped it. bits i saw whilst flicking over, made me want to kill LLB. nothing unusual there then.

seriously, the TnT game was much better as they had something to fight for.

koogy wonderland (koogs), Wednesday, 21 June 2006 08:19 (nineteen years ago)

I doubt that they're all gay. Nobody is all gay. Except gay people.

the pinefox (the pinefox), Thursday, 22 June 2006 12:49 (nineteen years ago)

Right, so the next England Match is on Saturday at 4 o clock.

This means s/shields beach will probably be OURS!
