ARGH. Having a MYCOMMONNAME@gmail.com address is awful. I've been getting all these huge word attachments of biz documents from some real estate agents. So I write back to tell them that they have the wrong address and I get this --

Also, posting your resume on craigslist or anywhere where recruiters can get it means you'll get 100000 dumbshit recruiters sending you Plaxo requests for the rest of your life.

My husband, who also has COMMONISHNAME@gmail.com, was getting correspondence between two parties embroiled in a divorce for awhile. The very weird thing was that the estranged husband and wife had the same first names that he and I have.

I also had an ATM eat my bank card and then my metrocard ran out so I had to use my precious cash to buy a new one.

No way. It might actually possibly disgust you slightly more than it disgusted me. :-P

Also today, AOL called me to collect on outstanding "debt" that stemmed from them disassociating my Time Warner Cable account from the FREE AOL LOL ACCOUNT that came with it. I already resolved this problem months ago!

I am always paralysed with indecision when it comes to choosing the correct form of address for a prospective employer... I usually go with first name (emails are less formal than letters, right?), but I have become irrationally paranoid in the past that this is the reason I haven't got certain jobs.*

*It's certainly never been because I have a tourette's like tendency to blurt out "Well, I'm pretty lazy and kind of slovenly" when asked to list my weaknesses in a job interview. Oh no.
