Saw it by random at the cinema. Quite an original idea for a comedy. Basically it's Lord Of War but funny and about the tobacco industry.

Yes. Aaron Eckhart v good in it, but it does get a bit sidetracked by the kidnapping and ends up with a lumpy plot feeling. It doesn't know whether to like him or dispise him, and this weakens the satire a touch. Would have liked to have see more of the MOD Squad (especially more binge drinking from Bello). But on the whole pretty original and quite funny.

Bothered me oddly somehow that A. Eckhart played his part so much like Ari (Jeremy Piven) from "Entourge". I dunno, even down to like his diction, I really picked up a mimicry vibe that bugged the shit out of me.

Plus it should have been funnier (and maybe meaner), overall.

i was really impressed by it, and thought it was really funny, and well the forced strip scene did me in

there wasn't anything funny in it at all, i don't think I laughed once. it was smug and obvious.

It was based on a Christopher Buckley book, what did you expect?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 November 2006 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

I didn't know that going in. but I know now!

the cast was too good for this

To quote the author, "This is too dreary to contemplate."
