i always knew it as "if black touches yellow, then you're mellow. if black touches red, then you're dead."

i almost stepped directly onto a western rattlesnake last year doing my summer trails mapping internship in the open space canyons of san diego. i literally screamed like a girl. then half an hour later we walked into a beehive hidden behind some pepper trees.
