The first drops of rain after it being hot for aaages.
Thunderstorms!

D:
That really fine rain that gets you wet instantly.
Rain that doesn't look very hard until you get outside with less clothes on than you would otherwise wear, and get cold and wet and grumpy.

Yeah yeah yeah. We kinda missed spring here and it's been raining more than usual. (Cue meteorologist popping up saying it's been the same as the past yrs. Fuck OFF.)

Quite fond of rain except when it interrupts Wimbledon when I'm off work, and when it falls on all of my furniture, which is sitting out on the patio, covering in flimsy polythene dust sheets. Both of these things are happening right now.

Search the pitterpatterrain as it taps against your bedroom window at night. I love that sound.

That was the sound I woke to this morning.

Mmmm, I'm going to have to think about this, because there are loads of rains I love. Though I think my favourite is the late August thunderburst that soaks you to the skin and is SO WELCOME as a break to the heat.

I love really Big Rain. There's something especially nice about being in a tent or a caravan durng a heavy downpour - being curled up nice and warm and dry (hopefully) inside with a nice hot cup of tea as the rain thunders down on the roof.

Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Monday, 26 June 2006 12:56 (nineteen years ago)

S: sound of rain on roof that makes you want to crawl into bed with cup of tea and Jane Austen novel. Also, late afternoon rainstorms on hot days - the kind where you can walk outside in it safely and get soaked but still not get cold.

D: cold rain in that soaks into your clothing, through your skin and down into your bones so that you do not get warm again for weeks.

I love rain - good for the garden, good for the water table, good for cycling in.

I feel the umbrella was probably more a hinderance than anything...

Search: Rain on the 5th day of a test match when you are 120 for 5 chasing 350+.

Destroy: Rain on the 5th day of a test match you have the other side 120 for 5 chasing 350+.

spring sprung

scott seward, Wednesday, 8 May 2024 04:11 (one year ago)

It rained most of last week and the last two days where I am (northwest Montana). It didn't rain on the weekend, though, which was nice. And the rain is welcome because we didn't get as much snow this winter as people were hoping for, which means the water levels in the lakes and rivers are down, which is bad for fishing and summertime boat-related recreation. So I'm glad it's raining. Not so glad about it still being in the low 40s in May, but I moved here by choice, so.

Instead of create and send out, it pull back and consume (unperson), Wednesday, 8 May 2024 04:41 (one year ago)
