Saw this flick two days ago, and I really enjoyed it. Having Jon Stewart, Bill Clinton, and Bob Dole pop up was extra fun, but the I really dug how they were able to build a narrative around the championship. Pretty damn good RT/MC reviews, too.

what say you?

I haven't seen it yet, but a friend of mine saw the sneak preview and said it was pretty great. So I will try to see it at some point.

Predictably, I am hotly anticipating this.

Yeah, I think you'd really dig it.

Plus, i got a kick out of the fact that I saw one of the ex-music directors of my old station wandering around in the hotel scenes.

Looks fun. Am I right in thinking that the NYT crossword would be known as quick rather than crpytic in the UK?

i edited a piece about it!

but i haven't seen it yet.

this is gonna be really bad, isn't it? like a cross between the TMBG documentary and the scrabble movie (actually i liked the scrabble movie because all the hardcore competitors were completely batshit and/or barely functional).

bill clinton is in it yo.

(inspiring one of my proudest moments in photo-caption writing: "scandal-prone prez (4,7)")

Yes, but it's got Listener-style tricks and gimmicks to it.

This will be all over the Sundance Channel by next winter. How many minutes of Mike Mussina?

Would love to see even though I already read CROSSWORLD, which came out a year or two ago and covers a lot of the same ground (and was sort of impishly droll in its own right). Am sort of surprised not to find any link between book and movie (on the basis of a quick google) -- interesting timing, then.

is there a thread for the Al Gore flick?

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 15:43 (nineteen years ago)

i think it's called "an inconvenient thread"

An Inconvenient Thread

Yes, but it's got Listener-style tricks and gimmicks to it.

What are these? They sound fun.
