Well? Is this worse than a cage? or leads? Or leads and a cage?

(Over to you, Onimo :-))

I should do a series of these. I'll tie them to lampposts outside pubs when I'm on holiday.

that's cute, they look so gleeful.

Originally they had one each but as you can see they were far too roomy.

Actually, there are benefits to wheelie bins. They have there own movement system, so no having to drag round something which may veer off at 90 degrees for no apparent reason.

And as long as you attach the kids to the bin via their leads(preferably on some kind of internal anchoring they can't really do much mischief.

It can also double up as a bath or possibly a shower, if you leave it out in the rain.

(Isn't that Mrs Onimo's arm just about to bring down the lid on Master Onimo's head? - needless to say, with a fair amount of force?)

I've no idea who's arms that is. Might be my friend's wife. It's definitely not Mrs O's as it is tanned as opposed to pale and freckly.

The news link's long gone, but you can piece for yourself what happened to a couple of kids who went down a street in a wheelie bin:

Do you ever hold your kids' ankles and force them to walk on their hands, upside-sown? My dad called this hilarious ploy a "wheelbarrow ride."

that baldwin street wheelie bin catastrophe was in dunedin and one of the google matches points to ilx. it also has it's on wikipedia entry:

but yes, more pictures of kids in cages, where they belong.

That wikipedia entry teaches me that jaffa cakes in NZ and UK are different things.

"wheelie bins" does sound way more fun and park-equipment-like than "wheeled garbage cans." wheeeeelieeeee bin rides for all! those pics are super cute. totally do a series. also: kids in recycle bin, kids locked up to bike rack. endless comedy.
