... or so claimeth one of the local alt-weeklies. now, if you had asked me this last week, i would have said hell yes, it is true, i am never ever going out anymore and isn't picking out new rugs and hanging pictures just so much fun?

but today, 30 january, when the temperature's been above 60 for two days running and the days are getting longer and i'm pretty much free to come and go as i please ... today i want to suck the marrow of socialization, i want to enjoy the drink specials for all they're worth, i want to see the band that might be crappy but might be very good as well.

of course this could all change once i a) get full-time employment once again or b) the temperature starts dropping. but have you noticed any fluctuation in your socialization patterns as of late, hm?

let's meet at the pub to discuss! oh wait, none of you live around here, so i guess new answers will have to suffice.

Um, "in is the new out" = "i am in a relationship" or "i am getting older", generally. Delete as neccessary.

I love making these things up. My latest is "intelligent is the new gay".

'midweek is the new weekend'
Which is good, as it means that it lasts longer than a couple of days as well.

what about those of us who never ever went out in the first place? does this make us like those old skool "alternative" guys who ranted and raved about "sell outs" post-nirvana?

jess, Wednesday, 30 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

orange is the new red. and yes, i am more w/ one person and less by myself and in, and less in large crowds out.

Yes, I've been going out a ton and my apartment is a complete pit and my cats hate me.

What is escaping to your bio-geographical destiny? How do you know that was not your destiny somehow?

Arantxa, Wednesday, 30 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

godammit, i knew someone would beat me to the belly button joke. must use office-furniture-moving-for-health-&-safety-reasons fever that has gripped my office to end up with monitor not facing into room...

to answer the question, sunday is the new thursday, innit...

in has been boring lately, but preferable to out for me since I all of sudden decided I could not be bothered making conversation with dud people. Now I am totally bored and so I want to go out again. Only I cant since I am stuck in Oamaru, ILE will have to do until after the weekend
