My least favorite is that between-the-front-teeth inhaling whistle noise.

haha, tehresa, i always sing the googling/page-loading song when i'm on the phone with e.g. a friend who's asked me to look something up for them. "doot doot doot dootdootdoo doot doot doot doodoo" is one variation.

i also did a lot of the clucky clicking tongue against front teeth noises that almost come out sounding like you're scolding the other party. oops.

Yesterday, the man on the other end of the telephone line started singing a tune, as in a "doo do do doo doo" kind of way.

I was shocked, and considered saying something, but I couldn't think of anything. I've never had that happen before.

whistling "Girl from Ipanema"

Hahah I have to confess I do these sorts of noises ALL the time to clients when I'm waiting for pages/databases to load up :/ Usually "doo dum de doo" or variants, or a sort of tcsh tcsh/humming under breath thing. I feel like I need to make SOME sort of noise, otherwise they'll inevitably go "hello? Are you still there?" at me.

I should just start saying "sorry, its just our network is SO DAMN PATHETIC. Um. Except your link. No, yours is fine. Honest."

I also said "ah shit, really?" to a customer the other day. I dont *think* he minded too much (he's a reseller and I speak to him a lot) but ack ack ack, why did I do that.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 30 June 2006 03:36 (nineteen years ago)

Also, saying "whoops!" is a great way to freak people out =)
