just downloaded the 1954 cinemascope FILM. looking forward to watching it. jack webb's films are interesting but pretty much forgotten now.
the 1967-68 version of dragnet is coming out in installments on legit DVDs. the old stuff is still PD and the same dozen or two dozen episodes circulate in shitty copies on innumerable crappy labels. someone needs to get on the ball and release more of that stuff in better condition. i think maybe it's owned by universal now??

do you mean you have the entire series run from the 1950s??? i doubt that--i think some of them don't exist anymore.
but if you have a bunch of '50s episodes, could you like, burn them for me or something?

Sorry... It's the 1960s episodes I have the complete run of (along with a complete run of the radio series - at least the episodes that are still available)
Correction on the 1967 TV movie. It's was actually filmed in 1966 and was intended to be a one-shot TV movie but NBC ended up commissioning a new series. The movie is great and probably the best of the entire series. Loosely based on Lonely Hearts Killer Harvey Glatman who was active in L.A. in the late 50s it's pretty hard boiled for television. yeah, it's the 1950s tv episodes that can be elusive... the same ones get repackaged constantly.
