Can You Recommend A Cheapish Digital Recorder?

Ideally under £100, with internal microphone, plugs directly into PC via USB, can save files as MP3.

It's for use to record band rehearsals/solo ideas etc.

Thanks!

I've got an Olympus thing that I paid about $120 CDN for. It has USB, internal mic (and a plug-in for external mic--which you might want), and it's a piece of cake to transfer the files from whatever stupid filetype it saves as to MP3.

MobiBlu has a new thing with a rechargeable battery that lasts 6 full days. I own it. It's pretty great. It's a Flash USB drive/mp3 player/fm radio/recorder. Kicks the shit out of an iPod mini as far as I can tell. No moving parts! And the radio-record actually works well! And the voice record works well, too. I use it for recording acoustic guitar ditties and then I just USB them to my computer. I am not sure how it would work for BAND REHEARSALS, though. That's probably too loud for the little condenser mic. I have no idea, though.

are voice recorders going to be ok for this? the quality will be rather low. that said, i don't think you'll get a much higher spec for the money.

I don't know what a voice recorder is, exactly, but I have a mini cassette Sony recorder, which I would call a voice recorder, and the microphone sucks on it. The little condenser mic on my MobiBlu is much more advanced. It was meant for taping college lectures, I guess, and is supposed to work very well for that.
