and before you get trite with the "oh, x" meme I created, why don't you reach out and feel the bottom of your right (or left) hand. Do you have any toughened skin right where the palm rests on the mouse? Isn't this a bizarre adaptation of the human body to the electroninc world? it's like observing man and machine evolving together.

so, do you have one?

"the oh, x meme [you] created"

For a second I thought this was a picture of a squid's taint.

you can email me if you wish to challenge the truth (nickalicious), Friday, 7 July 2006 00:22 (nineteen years ago)

You're supposed to stroke the mouse gently, not beat that pussy up.

you're supposed to take the mouse out of your hand while you are sleeping

My palm hovers over the mouse. Only the fingertips exert pressure. MY hands are a scabby calloused wreck anyway, because I actually work with them, being a lowly soil-grubber.
Plus I have contact-dermatitis on the ring finger of my right hand from housework. You'd think my house would be clean. Go figure.

You sure that's from the mouse?

i have a mouse callus on my wrist, at the base of my hand, where it rests on the table as i mouse.

derrick (derrick), Friday, 7 July 2006 02:22 (nineteen years ago)

I have a clarinet callus - a big one on my right index finger from holding my clarinet with bad posture. It's been over ten years since I last held a clarinet that way (I got one with a slightly different key shape for the key in question, which made it impossible) but the callus has never faded at all.

'Aren't babies born with creases in their palms
Way before you'd think the hand's most frequent movements have been established?
Have humans evolved to be born to hold hammers and swords?
In the years to come, will we see the emergence of a strong computer key finger?
In the years to come, will we see a flattened mouse-pad palm?'

I have a distinct callus on the thumb of my right hand from where I flick the lighter flint. And I've only been a smoker for a few years!

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 July 2006 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

Er my right thumb that is.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 July 2006 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

Which I just said. GAH. Stop drinking Trayce.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 July 2006 09:50 (nineteen years ago)

You took up smoking in your late 20s? Uh, why?
