so i got permission from ed ruscha to currate a show, and its about his 1977 drawing entitled Please Ask 150 Artists to Draw A 1950 Ford From Memory.

My show is to actualize the conceptual question, and i need artists, so in yr dream world, and in the real world, who do you know who would be awesome for this project?

actualize the conceptual question

Does that mean you're going to ask an updated version of the question? (like, er, make me an ASCII drawing describing the Apollo Moon lander or something that uses current technology to describe something approximately 27 years old)

(and no, 2006 - 27 isn't the Apollo Moon lander age)

i dont care if you know what it looks like kate, thats the whole point, memory can mean all sorts of things, organic, commerical, second hand aesthetic.

what i mean by that statement is that i am finding a list of 150 artists to draw a 1950 ford

I wonder how Alex Grey, who does the cover art for Tool, would draw one?

really, it's excusable if part of the concept is to cast a wide, somewhat random net for artists on an internet message board, but that does not mitigate the lack of vision in contemporary curatorial practice

knowing that 150 of my favourites means that i need 300, and that i am really not working random, and why isnt this legit as research, and this isnt exactly conceptual, because its really about drawing, and whats yr problem

and i have ruscha

Does this have anything to do with his 1977 piece "Will 100 Artists Please Draw A 1950 Ford from Memory?" ?
